I posted this up in the Group Buy area and realized that not everyone interested in it is a forum member so, I've moved it here. If you can't see any images below, you can view them here.

I took part in Joe2Lmaker's group buy for the Tag Along Tank. It's been a great replacement to my old TourTank. Since it sticks out like a sore thumb and prompts many questions where ever I stop (a little irritating when I'm on the clock), I decided to cover it up.

I purchased both a cover for the Tag Along Tank (TAT) and a RallyBook from

LindaT Custom Tank Bags. Both items are customized.

As you can see, they are very well constructed and form fitting. Linda normally attaches the D-Rings you see on the top. Convenient for me as I was going to ask for them anyway so I could attach my drink tube retainers.

I chose basic pockets. There are three more types of pockets you can order... Standard, Standard Plus and Hidden.

Cover still allows easy access to the mounting bolts.

Linda included a retention strap to the cover. This is probably overkill as the cover fits SNUGLY to the TAT.

Here's a pic of my Russell seat that somehow fits in the low seating position against the TAT.

I also ordered one of Linda's famous "RallyBooks." (Attached to my Nelson-Rigg CL350 tank bag.)

Linda had to modify her original design since I use a Saunders clipboard.

You can never have too many pockets.

Velcro that allows me to attach it to my NelsonRigg CL-350 tank bag.

Even Crazy Bunny approves!

If you want the full-sized images, send me a pm.

BTW - My bike is still under repair so there are all kinds of things "wrong" in the pictures (vent line not connected, missing plastic, etc.)

Feel free to point them out but, uhmmm, I'm aware.

Nice...... Black with piping to match the bike! I am leaning that direction too.

How long from the time you placed your order- to the time you received your cover?

Are you happy with your product for the $?

Very nice. Dunno about that piping, though.

Sure, it might approach the bike color fairly well at the moment, but..... let's hope that after some amount of time in the Nevada sun, it doesn't turn from the current purple-red to something more of a fudge-packing, flaming pink! ;)

The same may happen to the bike's color in the oppressive Nevada sun. So the tank piping will still match the bike.

The piping will fade. The piping on my Linda T tank bag was a really nice blue when I got it a few years ago, but now it is faded pretty badly. I am thinking about trying some blue ink of some type on it, but it is very low on the list of things to do.

Good to know Linda knows of the TAT aux tanks. If my neighbor doesn't deliver, I'll be spending $$ with Linda.

From the time I first placed my order to when I received the finished product was about 3 1/2 months. Keep in mind that (1) This was the first of it's kind, (2) There many odd-ball measurements involved (3) I'm probably the worst person to be taking those measurements and (4) There was a rather large rush of orders ahead of me.

I'm very happy with money I spent. I've had (what I thought to be) a very sturdy cover on my last tank. It would flap around in the wind and the Nevada sun turned black into white in just over a year. Look around at some of Linda's stuff. Iggy's cover has YEARS on it and still looks great.

Yeah, I'm not so sure either. Of course this IS Vegas. "Fudge-packing, flaming pink" will probably go unnoticed here.

Do you put anything in the pocket that is up against your back? I would think you would have to keep items stored in that pocket to a real minimum, or they would be pressing into you back. Of course, if you don't have a back pad in your riding jacket, they putting something soft in that pocket might be a nice bonus.

Originally, the thought was to use it for my UV2K bike cover. Unfortunately, even that lightweight cover takes up too much space. I'll probably use it for shrunk down wiring diagrams and roadside repair instructions. Something flat and not too thick.

FYI, I just placed my order, and Linda quoted me the end of March to mid April. Based on my previous experience with ordering from her, that date will probably slide a little bit, but the product is well worth the wait, IMHO.

I did the exact same layout as shown. I figured the $15.00 for the pocket right behind the rider is worth it, even if I don't use it for much. Better to have it and not use it, than wish I had the extra pocket.

For some reason I ass-umed those rally books only worked with Linda's tank bag. It'd be interesting to hear what you think of its utility. You gonna be packing fudge in Beatty this weekend?

Haven't had the chance to use the RallyBook in rally mode yet but I'll post up once I have.

I'll be in Beatty this weekend but the only fudge I plan on packing is the stuff I buy from Death Valley Nut & Candy company. :eek:inksmiley:
