Did I miss something, either recently or long ago, is it a Yamaha or a Star? Or, did Yamaha go by way of Honda and Toyota to create an Acura and Lexus style line called Star?

The service manager at my local dealership said that the "hush' hush" talk was that the FJR will be totally re-designed for 2010 with this Yamaha chip-controlled intake system along with a significant larger displaced motor and a possible 6th gear.... My mouth is a watering already!!! Hope he knows what he is talking about... He is the same guy that told me about a ZX14 based sport tourer to follow the ZX14(keep in mind that this was in 06).

I keep my fingers crossed!!

When nobody was looking and with almost no fanfare Yamaha split their cruiser line off and started the Star line of motorcycles. The V-Max is their power cruiser.

I don't care how fast it is - you can't outrun ugly! And what is with those brown/copper covers on an otherwise matte grey and black finish??? Must be difficult to be different these days . . . or is ugly just IN?

Now now it has the fine appearance of one of those musical Dr. Suess creations.

Does it come with a who?

Boy, some flickering red LEDs in the scoops four inlets, maybe a nice neon under chassis light job... perhaps a nice flame paint job on the muff cans. Yup, purrrdey. Don't forget the green Mohawk for the helmet.

But, if it makes the kind of power that is being alluded to I might just become a bit blind and consider buying one to supplement the FJR. I did have tons of fun with my Mad Max!

I really can't see the point of going that fast on a naked bike. When my windscreen bolts broke a couple of years ago, 70 was about as fast as I could comfortably go. I could see why the cruisers, uh, well, cruise.

Put that powerplant in the GenIII FJR, with the 6th gear, some fuel capacity and we're talkin' Connie slayer!

I like how you think....well.....sometimes....

I've said somewhere on the forum before that I think that engine could do some good things with some more development. 198 hp etc. I think qualifies. :yahoo:

I always liked that engine in my 84 Venture. Nice and smooth...good power....now even MORE power....hmmmm...wonder if you can still shoehorn one of those into an old Venture. :assassin:
