Long...multi-part post....
I know that I am a about 1000 miles early for the 16K service, but I thought that with the winter season coming to a close, it was an ideal time to put the Feej in the shop and give the whole once over. Here is a synopsis if what was done. Note that I was amazed to see the build-up of dirt in some areas, and have a better appreciation for the maintenance requirement of our machine. I had to have this done in a shop, as my current situation does not allow me the luxury of a garage, or even reasonable place to work, much less tools…
Pictures to follow, although I have learned from previous long posts not to put them all in one post, so I will split into 4 posts…
- throttle body synchronization
- change spark plugs
- change air filter
- change coolant (radiator fluid)
- change fork oil and replace fork seals
- Brake work
o Change caliper seals
o Change brake fluid and bleed brakes
- Replace Clutch Fluid
- Clean and lubricate clutch and brake lever pivot shafts
- Clean and lubricate shift and brake pedal pivot shafts
- Lubricate final drive
o Splines
o U-joint
- Lubricate swing arm pivot bearing
- Lubricate steering head bearing
- Change tires and balance
- Remove handle bar risers / Install new triple clamp
- Install new ignition switch
- Install new ignition switch relay
- Install new voltmeter
- Install under-tail and inner fairing lighting
Replace Clutch Fluid
Lubricate final drive
Lubricate swing arm pivot bearing
Lots of crud…
Job Well Done…!!
