I'll be visiting my SO in the Portland area the week of June29-Jul3. I'm riding out there and back home on the weekends. That route is done (zzzzzzZZZ)

I'm not entirely sure what the SO has planned, but she might be at work most of the time. She's a willing passenger, but probably won't be a spirited ride through any twisties with her.

I drove a cage on 53 between Mohler and HWY 26, I would like to get to that on the bike :)

I will know more when I arrive. PM me for contact details. I know there won't be many people able to take off work to go bumming around on the bike, but maybe there's a pub we could meet at for a brew or two???

I rode that stretch of 53 just this past Saturday for the first time. It was fantastic! I'm working all week but could take a detour on my way home one day. PM me when you figure out your plans.

I have some time then. If you want to do Hwy 53, we could take US 30 to Scappoose, scappoose Vernonia Hwy, Hwy 202 to Jewell, 103 to US 26, to Hwy 53, to near Mohler, Miami River Rd to Hwy 101, to Tillamook dairy for lunch, then Hwy 6 back to Portland.

I tossed that into Google maps and I'm drooling already. I'm actually going to be in Vancouver, WA, around 162nd & about 18 st NE.

We could meet at the McDonalds on Haden Island and then go from there. We could do Germantown road up to Skyline and out to Rockypoint Rd. down to Hwy 30.

Post a time and date for this Ride Call.

I should probably add that I'm that type of rider who likes to get some pictures. Especially of areas where I may only ride once (who knows, I may get back out there next year). I'm still working on a reliable method to take pictures while riding as some of these roads look like a LOT of fun :)

Hey, I want to get in on this. After missing CFR, I am looking for a ride, even if it is a day trip. What is the final agreed upon day/time/meet location?

McDonalds on Haden Island (12005 N Center Ave Portland, OR 97217-7816) -- I think this is the one referenced...

8am - 2 July

Kickstands up at 9am or do we want to meet at 7 and kickstands up at 8? Doesn't matter to me... y'all are 2hrs late from my timezone. :)

Did they repave 202 yet?
Don't forget windy ridge ...
The west end of 202 has been repaved and is great. About where it goes over the mountains is where it is still old, but that was better than the west end before.

Windy Ridge isn't open yet, but it would be a nice ride for Friday as you can ride 1/2 way up from Wakepish, Shall we meet at the McDonalds at Hadden Island at 8am on Friday too? We could make it a ride to Windy Ridge, or almost, then go on to Glenwood, Goldendale, and back on the Klickatat to 14 and then back to Vancouver. Killer ride, 320 miles, about 8+ hours.

Grrrrrr. You weekday ridin' animals are killing me. When I saw this I started scrambling, but it can't happen for me.

It's be great to ride some of these roads with the "locals". Maybe later in the summer....

Have a fine day on the 2nd. (Is it gonna be sunny?)

I recommend kickstands up at 9 a.m. That will give some time for the rush hour to taper off. I'll need the extra time to polish off a few McGriddles.
