Got the Mrs. some new Olympia Air Glide II riding gear so naturally we had to go break it in properly. The plan was from La Grange to Pinecrest to scope out a campsite for next week then return home, R/T about 3 hrs and about 100 miles. After an EXCELLENT home made cinnamon roll at Andy's in Mi Wuk (pronounced me wuk & no we didn't get any pictures, food was gone too fast) chatted with a fellow helo driver and then ran by Pinecrest lake. The wife was game to keep riding, so we decided to keep heading east on 108 over Sonora Pass. At Cold Springs while fueling, we talked to a couple of Bmr drivers who had been pummeled with rain yesterday on Monitor Pass, but today started and remained gloriously clear and cool. Traffic was light, roads dry and very little gravel so we had a ball all the way to 395. Once headed south on 395 the Bridgeport Jolly Kone was calling us to stop (no massage was had today) and then on down past Mono Lake which was showing white caps from the 20+kt cross winds. We fueled up at the 395/120 Mobil and joined the masses headed west toward Yosemite. Guess most of the tourists & RV drivers don't know what a turnout is for, but I knew we asking for slow going taking Tioga Pass on a Sunday afternoon. Oh well, at least the Mrs. got some great shots (first effort ever while riding!) while we were running WELL under the speed limit sucking up diesel and gas fumes. Guess she liked the gear because right after finishing a 300 mile day, she's already on her computer planning our next 2 pass day! Enjoy the pics!
