I wonder if my new 07 is on a ship heading for a port in ca or on a truck going up I-5 almost to Redding. I hate not having what I want when I want it. I have not been riding my KTM 950 because its up for sale. My life gets a little out of wack if I don't ride each day. I need to know if the FJR will be as much fun on hy 36 as the 950. How it will feel on my early morning runs to work. This is hard I may be able to go a few more days but that is about it LOL

So, you're not going to like it when delivery happens in April are you?

Any of the '06 folks waiters started getting antsy at the beginning of 2006 share their feelings and facts when they got theirs?

....all I can say is that there were a lot of people in May then saying, "This motorcycle rocks and was worth the wait!"

April, would suck. I sure hope the dealer is being strait with me he said second week in Jan.

"I hate the wait....."

Please tell me you aren't looking for sympathy here. Others will tell you I'm doing my level best to NOT be waiter baiting.....really.

As for sympathy, well, here's the best I can do:

Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. Whooooooeeeee! :yahoo:

Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha.

You really should go back and read some of the threads where people have waited 6 months or more for their FJRs, counting on promises, believing rumors, hoping and praying for miracles, all to no avail. AND some of us didn't have another bike to ride.

Then you have to check your engine number against the Euro board to make sure you don't have one of the French detuned engines.

Sorry guys, I just had to do it!

Just checked.....look at the news. The scow bringing over fjrs sunk in the panama canal. It's going to be a while before you get your scoot. Sowwy.

yeah, I can relate. My 06 FJR arrived on the 6th of May this year after my $500 deposit on the 17th of November of 05. It sucked, big time waiting! But, the second I climbed on my new blue baby all of the misery and agony of waiting completely disappeared. Seriously, it's worth the wait. She has 8000 on her now and the only thing that kills me now is that the "fucking rain" keeps falling (Oregon you know), and it's a really long time until it dries up enough to ride everyday. Until then, i get my FJR fix as much as possible, when it's not too wet and work on keeping her clean. Got a couple of trips planned for the summer and have been spending alot of time focusing on work and reading about my scoot until it gets beautiful again.

Don't fret, dream at night and remember that no longer how long you wait it will be worth it at the end.

"Waiting still sucks!!!"

ride safe and watch out for them "stupid cagers!!!"

I'd like to know why you are dumping the KTM. How many miles, what kind of issues, etc...And most of all, how you decided you'd no longer like having off-road capability enough to commit to the road-onlyness of the FJR?
But knowing what color you chose kinda takes away from your credibility rating. IMHO J/K

I know a little about waiting. I sent a guy a check and didn't get my bike for two months. Just keep buying stuff you think you might need in the meantime. :) Hint- Sliders, intercom, apparel, radar detector, iPod, windscreen, etc...

Okay, back by popular demand, is my "Waiter's Mantra":

Waiting really, really, really, really, really, really, really sucks. Then you get the call from your dealer that your FJR is here and redy to be picked up. On the way home you begin to smile so hard in your helmet that your cheeks hurt and the memory of the pain and frustration of the wait begin to fade. It was worth the wait!

Coming from the KTM, I hope you won't be too disappointed in the FJR. While it will be more comfortable the FJR won't have near the cornering clearance the Adventure has. It ISN"T a sportbike but it acquits itself very nicely, thank you.

It looks like I get the honor of spreading the news that at least one '07 has been delivered somewhere...I picked mine up yesterday afternoon. My dealer only received the one bike but he said there were others on the truck headed elsewhere. Then I got a call Today from another dealer (one here in Texas I had talked to several months ago) who told me they were expecting their deliveries to start soon. I think he said about a week but I really wasn't listening that closely. Maybe they will start arriving everywhere soon.

After hearing and reading some sad stories from previous years, I was pretty sure I was in for a long wait too. Even after my dealer called me last Thursday to tell me it was on its way from California, I still had my doubts. It turns out he was telling the truth. Hopefully you'll have a similar experience.

I only had to wait 5 or 6 weeks but it was worth it for me. :D

Here's a picture of it standing in my driveway

Gee "waiting" for an '07...wait, I think I feel a tear. Let's see, on 28Sept '05 I hobbled into NEC in a walker with my 3 week old right hip and plopped down my $500. On 31 March '06 I took delivery of the first '06 delivered in the USofA thanks to lotsa effort by NEC's owner and others. Then the big ? was: could I really ride her? Fortunate answer after my 82 mile "test" ride was yes!!! Of course by June a pinched nerve (as it turned out to be) in my neck caused ever increasing pain in my left shoulder and arm. Last long ride I had was in July. First-failed-operation took place in early Aug. Tried riding her for 1 hour (of PAIN) @ 6-7 weeks later. NO riding since. Second operation last Thursday, almost totally pain free now. Soooo maybe by Spring '07 I'll finally get to RIDE my '06 FJR 1300A. Waiting? Don't wanna hear no wussy whining about waiting! LOL!

BTW, IMhO, of the 78 bikes I've owned this (my second) FJR is the "almost purrrfect" bike....now to be able to RIDE her! DFO

Man, I had to wait the entire hour while my bank got their paperwork figured out. :D Bought my '06 right off the showroom floor.

Hey Cougar, if you get yours and this weather is still holding shoot me a PM, and we'll go for a ride.

Now thats the kind of shoping I like. The KTM was real good to me I had a blast on it 24,000 mi of pure fun . The FJR will give me little more comfort on long rides . I will get a 400 cc ds bike for my dirt fix. I sure am happy to hear some of the 07 are in the USA, man that is one good looking bike.

Preaching to the choir here, consider yourself in good company; quite a few of us were waiters. It's a badge I wear proudly.

Well, my local dealership (North Texas Yamaha) has a 2007 AE. I saw it as it was being uncrated when my tire was being replaced.

Now, as for knowing if it was earmarked for a customer, or not, I don't know. But they are here.

I suppose I'm in the minority of the 'waiters' because I don't mind. I am psyched to see them being delivered though.
