I hate the wait

You really should go back and read some of the threads where people have waited 6 months or more for their FJRs, counting on promises, believing rumors, hoping and praying for miracles, all to no avail. AND some of us didn't have another bike to ride.
worse. you should have been an '03 waiter and been forced to listen to those in '04, '05, and '06 who cried their eyes out after KNOWING what they were facing from the 2002/2003 reports... even AFTER they'd all had a chance to see (and set and sometimes ride) an FJR before picking up their's.

boo friggin hooo :glare:

Man, I had to wait the entire hour while my bank got their paperwork figured out. :D Bought my '06 right off the showroom floor.
did you check with Yamaha Cypress to see how long your warranty had been "running down" while it set on the showroom floor while Yamaha national had been told it was already bought and sold through the PdP program?

You old timers are way too funny. I am so glad that we are not talking about what happens when batteries on my satellite dish remote control goes dead and I go nuts for like 5 minutes looking for a new batch and not been able to select one of the 200+ channels. I can just see one of you telling me how you had to survive with just 3 channels and no remote control at all. :p

No color? WOW. how's your therapy sessions are going? :D

I hear Chinese like Mexican chili now days. So, it might be a bit faster then before.

It looks like I get the honor of spreading the news that at least one '07 has been delivered somewhere...I picked mine up yesterday afternoon. My dealer only received the one bike but he said there were others on the truck headed elsewhere. Then I got a call Today from another dealer (one here in Texas I had talked to several months ago) who told me they were expecting their deliveries to start soon. I think he said about a week but I really wasn't listening that closely. Maybe they will start arriving everywhere soon.
After hearing and reading some sad stories from previous years, I was pretty sure I was in for a long wait too. Even after my dealer called me last Thursday to tell me it was on its way from California, I still had my doubts. It turns out he was telling the truth. Hopefully you'll have a similar experience.

I only had to wait 5 or 6 weeks but it was worth it for me. :D

Here's a picture of it standing in my driveway

And I was there to verify when he picked it up - just had to see it in the daylight (OK it was cloudy and the sun was going down) versus the lights at the show - looks much better in the real world - the color is growing on me. The silver tail under the rack looks good.

Then you have to check your engine number against the Euro board to make sure you don't have one of the French detuned engines.

Umm... what does this mean? (other than the obvious) French bikes have less power and are occasionally pawned off on unknowing Americans?

Is this a repairable problem? (warranty repairable that is) If my Yam site is bragging about 145 HP, and they send me a 95 HP model, I think that's false advertising.... no?

France has a max limit on HP. FJRs end up with restrictors on them to keep them under that limit.

Waiting sucks. Poor poor waiters.

It really blows to not have a FJR right now.

I would be really depressed if I didn't have one.

:D

therapy sessions on the FJR are FANTASTIC! :biggrinsmiley:

let's hope thats Mexican chili with beans, takes a lot of "wind" to move one of those junks.

WOOOHOOOO!!!!

Just got the call from D&H! They said the truck was on it's way, and asked if I was in position to pick it up late next week! Of course, I told them no, as others here needed their bikes far more desperately than I did.

Then I changed my mind. I'll be in Culman, AL next Friday! :hyper:

Man, I was only without a bike for three weeks from the fire to picking up my new bike, but I bought mine ever so slightly used (less than 400 miles), so the only wait I had was waiting for the insurance company to pony up the money!

Regardless of how long you wait, especially if the tweaker truck driver bringing you your bike flips the truck destroying the bike causing you to wait for another one, it'll be worth the wait!

:)

FriscoJim, I do like that color. The real shots of that bike are so much better than the photochop one's Yamaha did for their web site.

As much as I enjoy messing with the waiters.....and yes, Bounce, you guys who were the ORIGINAL waiters set the standard of patience...I'm glad the PDP is over and the new owners can get delivery sooner. Besides, you'd all be insufferable as June, July and August passed and you had no FJR to ride. BTDT, and I was insufferable.!

Congratulations to all of you "early purchasers". May you enjoy your FJR as much as we enjoy ours.

(And if you don't, may you get maximum resell prices so you can get the bike that matches your dreams and desires.)
