Americade 2007, Lake George NY

Americade (25th anniversary) is coming up soon, June 4 - 9. I am riding up on Weds., and staying through Sunday. A quick search on the forum shows one member planning to attend; anyone else have plans to attend this year?

Depending upon the number of folks, we could just meet for a quick hello or go out for a ride together. It's a good chance to get together in a beautiful locale; anyone up for it?

I was thinking about taking a ride up. My thought was to get a room in Burlington, VT and ride down to Lake George just for a day. I'll probably have the SO with me so riding will be at a more "leisurely" pace. I'm not much for crowds, congestion, and group rides but I would like to check out some of the vendors and meet up with some of the folks from the forum.

My wife and I will be going up on the weekend, would love to meet some other forum members. Randy(or anybody) if you are interested in my opinions on the differences between Laconia and Americade pm me.

I will be there for Thursday only. Danielle and Deena are riding up with me for the day, so look for an '05 FJR parked next to a Blue SV650S and a Yellow 250 Ninja.

Might pass you on the road. I have a business related conference in Rhode Island that overlaps those dates and I'll be taking the bike. Remember to wave.

That's also the weekend of the Minuteman 1K.

I live an hour away from Americade and plan to go some time that week. Looks like Friday right now unless the weather acts up. Let me know where/when to meet and I'll try to be there.

We can just let this thread roll for a few weeks, see who is coming when, and then come up with some options for meeting. As a newbie, I haven't yet had the privilege of meeting anyone here and am looking forward to it (though I probably shouldn't be, based on what I read here every day!) Of course, I make no claim to be the final arbiter of when/where to meet, but I will bear the heavy burden of fascilitating the meeting as initiator of this thread.

I am leaving Ontario CA on May 16th with Run For The Wall to go to Washington DC. That event will terminate after participating in Rolling Thunder the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend.

My buddy, riding A Goldwing, and I are planning to spend the following week riding and eating Lobster in Maine, New Brunswick and most likely Nova Scotia. After that we will attend Americade probably early in the week unless we decide to stay a little longer and attend Laconia the next week. That would mean we would be on the road for about six weeks by the time we get back to Mexifornia, so I dought we will stay for Laconia as I have attended that rally before, back in 98 after the Harley Davidson 95th birthday event in Wisconsin.

In the process of finalizing plans, I know that my wife and I will be be there Friday and Saturday night. We are still looking for a hotel, will not be staying in Lake George, been there done that. Friday we will probably take our time getting to Lake George, taking a northern route through the Adirondacks. Saturday AM we will spend some time at the vendors (hoping that nomar will have a show discount) and then do some riding (likely in Vermont). Sunday we head back in the early AM.

If the weather is nice, I will be there on the friday.

Will leave Montreal early in the morning ( 6:00 am ) and should be at Lake Georges for 10:30.

Will stay there a couple of hours, visiting the vendors.

Should leave around 2:00 pm to be back at Montreal around 6:30 pm.

I'm only about 40 miles south of Lake George so I usually ride up after work 2 or 3 days. I'll spend a full day if the weather is good.

The bowling alley next to the Holiday Inn is a nice place to gather. They have a big parking lot and a bar with a deck overlooking Canada St. I know the local SCRC chapter used to host a meet and greet there every night but that chapter is now defunct.

I plan on going over Friday for the day (I live an hour away in VT) unless the weather is REAL BAD. We should pick a place to meet, like at Noon time Friday in the vendor food area?

I'll be there the week, trying to make the COG rally from Thursday to Sunday the wknd before the Cade.

BTW, not sure if they're letting anyone into the bowling alley parking lot due to the venders across the street. I believe they were charging for parking there last year...

I'm off the 6th and 7th. Nancy and I are planning to take a ride up to the adirondacks those days. It's possible that we could loop through that way. Geezer, it would be good to know where you're gonna be. Cell phone?
