Wow, that was some good fun in Park City.

Major kudos to Tim (TWN) and his possee for putting on a great event. All you guys did a great job and it is obvious that you're tweaking and perfecting a solid methodology for these events. All your efforts showed and are appreciated. GOOD WORK, the fun meter was at the rev-limiter.

Showed up in Park City Wednesday to heavy rain after two days of zig-zagging Nevada, including Great Basin Nat Park.

Rain Wednesday afternoon in Park City ...rode through this much of the afternoon.

Spent Wed night in Salt Lake City. Many of you may have noticed that I remodeled that town from top to bottom ...a whole different place now.

Thursday morning I put on a tire that I had ordered and was waiting for me. Did this to hopefully make the trip back to reno on this 2nd tire ..but these roads in Colorado are so good I don't think I'll make it home without yet another rear tire.

Here is George going over the details of the SS1K and BBG rides.

P1010017.jpg

Thursday afternoon lots of good fun and later a riders' meeting for the ss1k and bbg ride on Friday. It was here my theme for this road trip would get it's name. You see, George Z (beeroux) made up rally towels for all riders. The towel George gave me said "MOLESTER" . I'd like to think that this refers to the way I like to Molest roads on the FJR ...but I'm afraid the label may be in reference to those nevada incidences of dressing farm animals up in women's clothing.

MAJOR kudos to george for putting on these rides. A superb job of putting routes together (damn challenging) and he did it in a very unique way: "Rally style"

So, this was much more than a "typical BBG of logging miles on boring roads collecting gas receipts".

Instead, it was a very challenging route, 9 pictures were required at specific locations and these pictures needed to included a specified POI as well as the bike and rally towel. I can't say enough for the challenging route and fun of this theme. It was tough, it was fun, and often when folks do BBG's or other routes they're on slab or boring roads ...not this one. When you can ride the best of roads, have fun riding and at the end of the day have over 1500miles in under 24hours ---well, it doesn't get much better. I'm new to the LD and rally stuff, but I'm no stranger to having fun on bikes and hard riding. This ride brought it all together. No real time for taking regular pics on a ride like this as time is tight and the pace is hard ..here is the ONLY regular picture I took during the ride. Too bad, as we saw some of the best of Utah on this ride.

P1010019.jpg

I had so much fun on this unique BBG ride that I didn't want it to end ....so George, I hope you'll appreciate that I've kept it going ...you'll see my "MOLESTER" rally towel in many of the pics (below) of this current road trip.

Saturday night was good fun and I want to thank Don Carver (DCarver) for the many cocktails. Some good fun, good folks and I was still going strong with the beveraqes and fun when some people were leaving to head home (toecutter, warchild, mr. chapman). Probably the craziest event of the night was after some great silly dialogue with Don Carver, we bent a clothes hanger into the shape of the CBA logo and with a butane torch heated it red-hot and branded each other. **** that hurt ..and still does. Sure looking forward to the next round of fun DCarver ....

Sunday I headed toward Flaming Gorge and Colorado. I've spent a few days here in Colorado and will continue to explore and molest this state for a few more days.

Entering Colorado ...(still keeping the rally going)

Found this great little place to stay in Meeker CO. I needed some sleep after 4 days of sleepless WFO fun and this spot was the ticket. After some fun downtown with the locals ...hit this cozy bed and fell into a coma for 10hours. Damn that felt good.

So, a few more days molesting Colorado WFOrally style ......I'll update more later

cheers and molestation from Colorado. .....renojohn

More Colorado today ....of the backwoods funky variety. Rode by brail (literally as my Garmin 2730 took a **** on me) throgh the many backroads west of Boulder. Some really fun riding and some spectacular sites.

Here is the town of Nederland ....pretty layed back funky

P1010038.jpg

P1010040.jpg

The town of Ward is really something. A real throw-back counte-rculture nirvana. I'm not sure how to describe it. Kinda of a cross between Bolinas CA and Wolf Creek OR. But really, it is it's own deal. Like Bolinas, they take down all road signs acknowledign the place ..and they may not be super hospitable to tourists. I did just fine and met some *intersting* folks.HERE IS SOME INFO ON THE TOWN. I would suggest if Iggy has political ambitions, this would be a good spot to be mayor.

Some pics of Ward ..they don't do it justice:

...and Yep, George, I'm still keeping the Rally going:

Down the road a bit is a little tavern ...with some interesting history -just the short time I was there subjected me to some thoughts that won't soon leave my head.

P1010052.jpg

Amazing roads and sites here in Colorado, it is some good fun for this hick from Nevada.

The new tire that I put on at WFO definately won't make the trip home ....lucky if I can get more than a few more days out of it. The great roads are taking their toll on the rubber. -so my already altered route may change even more. Probably will have swMoto ship a tire into a town that I'll hit down the road in a few days.

....more Colorado tomorrow ....tonight I'll be providing supervision to the town of Boulder. A liberal college town (not my usual M.O.) ..with Orientation this week for new students. Lots of scenery and energy.

RJ - I laughed my butt off when I saw you pic'ing the rally towel post-WFO. I thought about doing the same thing over the last three days on my trip home, but I figured my riding partner would think I'd lost it. Classic, I love it.

Dave, it was a pleasure meeting you and your family. Thank you so much for your generosity and hospitality. And those roads you pointed me to: OH MY!!! Wonderful stuff and more details later.
Please pass on my appreciation again to Kendall.

Boyz and Girlz, let me just say that the southern end of Colorado is something special. Riding hard and seeing too much and I'm sure missing even more as every turn shows a whole different adventure and I'm not able to take every one. Still, be assured that I'm molesting all I can and some big days of molestation ..lots of riding time on some of the most fun roads to be found anywhere ..and here in Colorado they are EVERYWHERE. A few thousand very twisty miles in this state, perhaps on whole the best overall riding experience to be had short of the mountain ranges in Mexico ...and not far behind. No internet or time to post anything the last few days -but just stumbled across a little indian gift shop in southeast Utah with WI-FI and espresso  so a few minutes here to post a few pics

Mt Evans area: ..at the top is well over 14,000 feet!!

This little girl at a Lake at the bottom of Mt Evans is a future biker. Thrilled with excitment for bikes. FJR is her favorite, she couldn't take her eyes off of the hick from Nevada ...and no doubt because of his FJR. Whe was being escorted by three generations of family from all over the world. Fascinating fun people.

P1010072.jpg

This was the 2nd time I ran into these folks from Atlanta. They were Zig-Zagging the continental Divide. Two days earlier and hunrdeds of miles away I ran into them west of Boulder up in the funky(my word) hills. They were on the side of the road, had been there for a while ...i circled back to find out they were stuck ...FJR had quit on them on an uphill curve. He was getting ready to dig into the battery compartment as he was at a loss ---I said let me take a look ......I mounted the bike, turned the key on ....and noticed the kill switch had been flicked ...flicked it back and started up the bike LOL LOL ....we've all done stupid things and now this guy is in that group. They were appreciative ...fun to see them days later.

I had traded emails with Pinhead (from this forum) before leaving for WFO Had given me suggestions on my route which I had spent considerable time working on before leaving. (here clicky)

Met Dave Wednesday night in Gunnison and he and his family are a real treat. We traded fun dialogue and he again coached me for what I'd be in for the next day(s) of riding. Thanks again dave and kendall .....I look forward to returning the favor.

My sentimental favorite and the cutest house full of Charm in Gunnison:

I feel like a total slacker for just riding straight to WFO-6 and back. What an awesome travel log and some great pics. I'm inspired.

An amazing couple. This guy is no street ***** ...rides a lot of dirt all over the world. Even does events like the Colorado500 two-up!! We traded lots of stories, he gave me advice on a shortcut into Utah that isn't on most maps. A dirt road recently paved.

A "splash" of Utah anyone?

Took a backroad from Colorado into SE utah ..spent the night in Blanding. Decided to do a little zig-zag of Utah before hitting southern Nevada ....up to Hanksville, down hwy 12 , 89 etc etc ....

Those who know Utah know this is a good route ..........but what I hadn't planned on:

!!!RAIN .....lots of rain right from the start! It then let up ....but once up to Torey on hwy12 it started again ...rode through flash floods. Cars were pulling over and stopping as the rain was so heavy --and you can see the muddy run-off in mass -often creating rivers in the road.

By Henrieville the rain had let up for the most part. Then around Zion, up over Brianhead and then dropped into the night heat of the valley floor ...Cedar City down to Vegas where I stayed last night ...probably stay one more night before heading home.

Excellent! Way to molest, and that last set, I just got one question, Got ARK?

Looking real good RJ. :dribble: How many good looking dirt road excursions have you passed up in the last week?

Sorry, no Vegas pics ..way too incrimating. The new Vegas catch phrase: "Your Vegas is showing". Let me tell you, there was a lot of Vegas showing. Vegas is the on the wimpy end of this great state, but a good place to get acclimated back to Nevada life after time on the road.

The peyote out in the Nevada desert makes some peoplel do strange things. Here is an example.
