Here is a three part video of the infamous Mulholland Highway, James Dean's 'warm-up' road. He'd typically run this road for practice before a race sometimes as many as 1000 miles a day, it is rumored. The road is named after William Mulholland, best known for engineering the diversion of the Owens River - some 200 miles distant - to LA thus enabling the continued growth of the city. Er, I wish you hadn't done that, sir...

Anyway, Part I is 8 or so minutes, II is about 9 and III is 4 or so. I hope you enjoy them, but I'm sure not nearly as much as I had filming them...

By the way, anyone have a judge in the family? I need a little, um, favor... :D

Mulholland, Part I

Mulholland, Part II

Mulholland, Part III

Very nice roads and nice video, What are you using for an editing program?

And come on fess up, what did you do to require favours from Judges?????

Hideous videos TWN.

I found them especially irritating for the following reasons:

1. Obviously sunny and mild weather in late December

2. Almost total lack of traffic

3. Decent road surface

4. Nice twisties and lots of them

Nowhere in Europe would you find such empty roads so close to a major city. You'd have to move way East to the Chernobyl area

anyone have a judge in the family?
Yup. His name's Dredd. Feel free to mention me...

BTW, what was your violation? I thought you behaved yourself impeccably most of the time... :D

Stef

Thanks Barney for the videos. They were great! How come you didn't just show your Mayberry badge to the occifers?

Enjoyed it here in snowy Illinois!

One of my boys says after that video that he wants to get an FJR...I told him for now to stick to killing the space aliens on the galaxian game he just got...

I WANT MY BIKE NOW.

RIGHT NOW.

IMMEDIATELY.

sighhh...............

Patience, Grasshopper - Mama Yamaha will deliver your 06 when you least expect it ....

 :sad2:

Excellent Vids, TWN !! Sorry if you need a judge - perhaps the forum should start a TWN legal defense fund?

Maybe the FORUM can turn TWN's posts into tokens worth about a mil a piece and he can cash those in at the bar...then paying the fine should be no problemo. :D

You need a judge? Well, I'm not a real judge (but I play one on TV), but I will be more than willing to assist in any judging if its a beauty pagent. ;) You just let me know when my services are needed. :D

Thanks for the comments...

@Toe

Last time I pulled a wheelie on this bike it was quite unintentional. Scared the poop outta me! Give me an old Schwinn Stingray and I'll wheelie the **** outta it... But not on a motorcycle...

@Stef

It's amazing that Mulholland is within minutes of 15 million people. Good thing they're not all riders! And I was very fortunate to see as few cages as I did. Very rare, but given it was Xmas Eve...

@others

I really don't need a judge, but I almost did... Fortunately, I was 'only' going 10 over the posted limit of 35 MPH.

Just before The Rock Store sat Johnny Law in a drive - way back in. My final left turn on vid 3 is me pulling off Mulholland to chat with the nice officer about the evils of excessive speed and other issues relating to additional road taxes and such... As it was Xmas Eve, the good chap let me go with a, "keep it to the speed limit and take it easy, OK?"

"Sure thing, Officer. And I'll recommend to all my internet FJR buddies that they do the same. Safety first, you know."

Did he just estimate you or have some radar? I encountered a Chippy coming at me Christmas Eve on my way up to Oakhurst. He must have been heading for the barn as his radar was not running. I was momentarily held up behind some slower traffic (only doing 65 in a 55) anyway. I loves my Escort! :D

Not estimated, not radar, but LASER!!!!!!!!! I asked him by what method he clocked me and he told me that he just got his new toy and was 'playing' with it which may also explain his 'generosity' (that and the Benjamin that fell from my pocket, "Oops! Did that Benny just fall from your pocket, Officer?".... {J/K! ;) }).

Yo Mr.TWN

Nice videos, I really got a kick out of the comments edit in while behind traffic, :D

although not seen on tape you where probably doing this :****: in there rear view mirror

Jdog

TWN, you are a regular **** video guru now.

Keep posting. I am going to put a monitor and speakers on my bike and watch your videos atop my bike,

which is stored inside my snow covered garage.

Now I don't have to make vroom vroom noises sitting on it during the winter.

I like snow, it is fluffy and white and fun to play in. :(

**** off, I can't move. Not yet.

I think your bike is a ticker. :bleh:

Oh and in case I forgot, :****:

Very nice Mister TWN.

80ºF here also in sunny AZ; I ought to mount my camera and take it for a spin up and down the mountains. Maybe this weekend...

I like your videos... keep them comming for those unfortunate souls that are shoveling snow... :D

Thanks. I'm looking at a bullet cam so I can easily mount it in different places: Fairing cam, fender cam, tail cam, helmet cam...

Hey Stef,

I went to show the wife your video FJR on the run and now the link says "object not found".

Please post the link again.

Thanks,

34 degrees F and rain/snow mix.
