    Motorcycle Magazines/Publications

Thanks for the quick and informative responses. I will definitely take a look at MCN first as there seems to be some consensus there. Big Sky mentioned "low Production Values" but I'm not sure I understand what that means. What I really hate is magazines that serve as big advertisements for...

    Motorcycle Magazines/Publications

I have been an avid car guy for my whole life and thus Autoweek has been my publication of choice for 20 years. Now that I've become motorcycle crazy, is there a comparable motorcycle magazine? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Josh

    Traded my FJR today...

Well I traded in my Spyder for the FJR (down to two wheels, working my way down to one wheel). I put 11,000 miles on my 2008 Spyder from April 2008 to April 2009 and for the most part I enjoyed the experience. However, there were some issues. Specifically, the electronic nanny that keeps you...

    Surrounded by PUSSIES!

No offense but I think much is this thread is in jest...just sayin. Come to think of it so is most of this forum! Reminds me of... Mary: "Why do you hang around with that sadist?" Ann: "Beats me!"

    Braking system

I didn't realize my FJR had brakes. Interesting...

hurt my back trying to put fjr on center stand

I'll be honest, for the first week or so, I could not get the beast up on the stand and I hurt my back every time I tried. But, once I STOPPED trying to use the stupid handle under the seat and started using the grab bar instead, it is MUCH easier. The handle under the seat causes me to bend...

Winter Gloves made for use with Heated Grips

Well, at 25 degrees this morning my hands were freakin ice cubes. I used my Tour Bastard heated gloves but it felt like I was bare knuckling it. Note to Yamaha: Please get some heated grips over form Japan pronto!

    Surrounded by PUSSIES!

My ride home was at 40 degrees and I enjoyed it until I hit the traffic off the highway. I think a lot of these pussies are pussies because they don't have an FJR. I wouldn't want to ride anything else in the cold! :yahoo:

    Surrounded by PUSSIES!

Ok, it was 18 when I left the house. FJR readout never got below 25 for some reason but still. "I am also NOT a pussy." Only saw one other bike on the road, a Goldwing...I think you call them Wingabego's right?

hurt my back trying to put fjr on center stand

I'll throw this out there because nobody else has. I have found that if the bike is in neutral or in gear with the clutch pulled, it is much easier to get it up on the center stand. I surmise that there is a little rolling resistance cause by the drivetrain...keep in mind the back wheel has to...

    Surrounded by PUSSIES!

Here in DC the temp is supposed to be 22 when I head out for work tomorrow. I plan on taking the bike. Assuming I do, I'll be calling out the pussies tomorrow at work! Oh and I should point out that my ride is 28 miles at speeds in excess of 75 mph!

Winter Gloves made for use with Heated Grips

I like your disclaimer..."results may vary..." Thanks dude. My heated gloves, which I used yesterday for the first time since last winter, are really balky. Last winter I rode every day it didn't rain, sleet or snow but I was on my Can Am so the balkyness was not as big an issue. Now that...

    Surrounded by PUSSIES!

Some utterly hilarious posts... In the DC area, nobody that rides 95, 295, 395, or 495 can be considered a pussy. You have to ride here to understand. Having said that, there are a substantial amount of WIMPS. Won't ride below 50 = WIMP. "Wah wah, it's too cold." I can tolerate a good deal...

Winter Gloves made for use with Heated Grips

Was wondering if you think the Firstgear TPG gloves would work out well coupled with grip heaters (on order from Yammy) for a 45 minute commute in temps down to maybe 30? Thanks, j
