Turning the FJR into a Lay-Z-Boy

I'm kidding about turning the FJR into a rocker-recliner but I would like to make the bike more comfortable. My wife and I are 65 and 64 respectively but we still love to ride. I've got an '08 FJR and I'd like to make a few mods to make the bike more comfortable for us even on short rides...

    First Timer

Congratulations on the new bike but 61 won't get you a lot of seniority on this forum. I've been riding since I was 26 and I'm 64 now. Keep the rubber side down and enjoy yourself.

How old are you FJR riders?

I'm 62 and my wife is 63. Except when I'm using the bike to go to work, I'm always two up. My wife lovesit; very comfortable.

    Good deal???

Burninrice, You know, bikes sell for different prices depending on where you are. All you need to decide is if you want out of the old bike and if YOU'RE happy with the price. Good luck. Bob

    New NorCal FJR owner?

Old Michael, I had an unexpected get off a few years ago. Not nearly as severe as yours but still . . . Eventually you do settle back in but the apprehension will stay with you for a while. I suspect the worse your get off the longer it lingers in your mind but eventually you will feel like...

Sell the FJR, or will a PCIII fix the throttle?

I've been reading this thread about the issues that some of you are having with the FJR's throttle response and as a new owner I've got a couple of questions. I just got my new '08 FJR about 4 weeks ago and have put a little over 1K miles on it so far. I haven't noticed any issues with the...

    Right turn, stall and dump

I got my 08 FJR about 4 weeks ago. I've got almost 1K miles on it and haven't had any problems with the throttle/clutch. I had an 02 FZ1 a few years ago and one of the things that made that bike so nice was that it was so easy so launch from a stop light or stop sign. You didn't have to slip...

    New FJR Owner

I never would have guessed that there are so many of us over 60 riders out there, especially on a sport bike. I only put about 6k miles a year on my bikes but with the riding time here in Ohio cut short by some long cold winters, I guess that's not too bad. Still play in 2 coed softbal leagues...

    New FJR Owner

Picked up my new '08 Monday night. Haven't had much time to ride yet because we've had several rainy days since then but I have managed to put 140 miles on it. What an amazing ride. And I don't mean the speed I'm sure the bike has. I'm what you might call a senior citizen (61), so I'm more...
