Never ending heat issue MAY be...

I too was impressed w/ fit and finish. It doesn't go on fast but it goes on perfect. I was very impressed w/ design dimensions. That's why it's custom. It shoehorns in there like a glove.

Never ending heat issue MAY be...

Been away a bit. Went riding on 101 degree day w/ high humidity. The headers definitely reduce heat. Alot. No question. And yeah, the map is free from Dale. Can't imagine trying to get more out of the map but go for it. I guess the $400 for parts was integral to the allusion the Mastercard joke...

Never ending heat issue MAY be...

With the full system you need the Power Commander and a Fender Extender. Dale supplies you with a custom fuel map and insists that you buy a $14 fender extender to protect the ceramic finish which is under warranty. I'm glad I did it. It sounds awesome and the PCIII is trick. The bike runs like...

Yes, ceramic coated in/out. Call him. I think he may be addressing the issue of running cans other the stock or his. (You don't need to be told that you could sell your Leos).

Never ending heat issue MAY be...

...ENDING!! We are having unseasonably hot weather for early Spring, even for Texas. I'm running full a Holeshot system and have ridden at the hottest time of day w/ temps in the low-mid 90's, high humidity and low pressure. The bike runs alot cooler. Again these are not very, very hot...

    Holeshot Fun

They're closed. It's in this thread, I think. He had a family emergency. Reopens Tuesday. My install of headers and PCIII is done. It drizzling wet here but took it for a spin any way. So far it rocks. Gotta clean the whole bike again and I'm gonna double check the silicone gasket seal...

    Holeshot header installed...

... but I don't have my PCIII yet (coming tomorrow) so it's not mapped. But I just had to start it! Idled at around 2K freezing cold, revved it up several times, let it idle down and shut it off. Don't want to run it so lean. It's sounds so bad assed, it's stinking addictive. My feelings so far...

True, don't start grinding on anything yet. Dale should make it right. I'm telling you, just fitting the proprietary stuff is not easy. It's tight. The HS midpipe is expanded to 2.1" at the end to accept the 2" header pipe. It's a very tight fit w/ filing, sanding etc...

He said that they would work with other components. Now, he has to address this issue. That said, they were designed and built as a proprietary system.

    Holeshot Fun

As per HS instructions the install at his joint requires hand fitting, including filing and sanding. The slot end of my HS midpipe is going to need to be opened up, by tapping it out is my first thought. All of the HS components seem to be practically the same size. I've got it apart w/out...

All gaskets removed? I have HS headers here, uninstalled, as I'm waiting on my PCIII. I've taken my HS slipon off of the right side and and trying to figure all this and help.

Are there slots cut in the mid section of the D&D pipe where it mates to the header pipe? Do you still have a gasket in place somewhere?

    Holeshot Header Experience

And he said he might include them in the future but that it would raise the cost. Most would pay it, I would have. But I'm just gonna run Dale's map and if it works, then that's it. It's not like I want to jack with all the tuning when really it's already been done. I misunderstood when Dale...

Bought a new one. Thanks Jeff (SportbikeEffects).

    Holeshot Header Experience

Dale responded to my (our) pressing question about individual cylinder CO tweaking (with or without rivnuts I asked) and he reiterated that it's a waste of time on a street bike and that there's truly nothing measurable to gain above and beyond what his custom map provides. We can call one of...

... not to mention altitude. But in spite of all my verbage I totally agree w/ Radman. If any potential difference is immeasurable or numerically insignificant then I would never even mess with it.

    Holeshot Header Experience

I too asked right off the bat about the rivnuts and individual tuning. This is very interesting. This should be resovled by those in the know. I mean, I read Dale's response and true we're not racing here but being certain that it's tuned perfectly when all the soft/hardware is readily...

    Holeshot Header Experience

I was one of the first on that year long list. True to his word Dale emailed w/ a heads up and then called me & the others on the list. Gave us a no BS run down on the deal. I'm very suprised he still had 2-3 extra to sell. Congrats to those who got 'em.
