engine cutting out in rainy conditions

Well, I really do hope it was bad fuel and not the weather that caused the problem. It was just strange that out of 8 bikes it only affected 3.

engine cutting out in rainy conditions

Thanks Afast03nNJ for the info. At least i know now that we weren't the only ones that have had this problem. I've riden in the rain before without problems, but this was more than a little rain, it was pouring so hard at times that you couldn't hardly see the bike that was 30 feet in front of...

We all used the high octain fuel, once we got out of the rain for a while, all the FJR's started running fine again.

engine cutting out in rainy conditions

We thought about fuel, but all 8 of us fueled up at the same place and none of the other bikes had this problem.

engine cutting out in rainy conditions

I did try to search the forum for info before i posted this and didn't find anything regarding wet weather riding conditions. I went on a 3 day ride this weekend with 7 other guys on various makes of motorcycle. 3 FJR's, 3 harley's, 1 BMW and 1 Honda ST1300. The second day of the ride was...

Fortuna, Ca to Longview, Wa and back

Just got back from this ride to Longview, Wa. The weather was strange this weekend, it started off at 108 degrees riding through Portland, Or and then ended with thunder and lightning storms, rain and lots of fog. This was my first long road trip and after 1,070 miles in 2 days I feel pretty...

    marble mountains northern CA

This ride was a few weeks ago, i'm just getting the hang of posting photos so i hope this works. We started off in Fortuna, CA and rode east on hwy 36 and then north on hwy 3 which took us out to the marbles. The top of Scott Mountain just south of Etna, Ca. Lots of snow up there still, but...

    ugly oil filter

Ok, sounds like i should scrap this idea. I'm taking it off and sending it back. You guys are tough critics. That's ok, your supposed to ride them, not look at them anyways. Now, back to drinking beer!!!

    ugly oil filter

I was looking at that oil filter sticking out the side of my bike the other day and thought, there's got to be a way to cover that thing. So i shopped around and found a cover made by Arlen Ness for a Yamaha XV1600 Roadstar that has almost the same size filter. The FJR's filter is about a 1/4...

    radiator cover

Thanks, i was just about ready to use super glue!! I think the '06 radiator is a little different than the '05, but after i went back out and started looking around i found the bolts that hold on the stock plastic cover. I guess that's why they don't send instructions, it really wasn't that...

    radiator cover

I just received my Meissner radiator cover today and it didn't come with any installation instructions. Has anybody put one of these things on? How did you do it?

    CO2 in checked bags

The only way to know for sure is to call the airline and ask them. But if i had to guess i would say no.

Very Northern Calif Scenic Highway ride

Hey FarWest, I live just up the road from you in Fortuna, Ca. and ride those roads all the time. Sounds like a fun ride, but i probably wouldn't be able to make it a two day trip that weekend. I could go some of the way and then break off to head back home.

    Exhaust/slip-ons

Hey SPORT, I've been looking at the Remus Hexacone exhaust also. But i'm having trouble finding any info on if you need to run them with a power commander or not, and if you do, where do you get the maps for them. So if you find anything could you let me know? I'll do the same for you. Thanks
