So my passenger loves the FJR, but...

For some reason on all my FJRs, my heels would on occasion go to "sleep" on long mileage days. I went to using a couple of Dr. Scholls heel inserts in my boots, problem solved.

    'Tick' Anxiety

My 03 was a ticker before Yamaha was admitting there was an issue. I sold it for my '04 and have no idea what became of the '03. My '04 was also a ticker which was repaired by Desert Valley Powersports. I sold the '04 to a friend of mine and it has since moved to the east coast, but as of 2...

AE owners: Silly things you've done

Yup, those seem to be typical "brainfarts" while getting used to the "new" system. Certainly for most the learning curve seems to be fairly short. I remember when I bought my '03 it took a few times of hitting the high beam switch while reaching for the windshield adjustment before my thumb...

    FJR Mileage Breakin

My first two FJRs were broken in starting at mile one using the full tilt boogie Motorman method. My next two were done using the "break it in like you are gonna ride it" method which in my case means a steady mix of "run the living crap out of it when I want to, cruise along sightseeing when I...

A Do (nearly) everything Controller for the FJR1300AS

"If you are ever looking for a worthy side project in your semi retirement (that would be quite sellable) consider designing a wireless helmet headset that can be used with a rider's existing Intercom box (Starcom1 or Autocom). Whoever comes up with one of those could probably sell a metric...

    He Was A Great Labrador

Sorry to hear of your loss and I sure can feel your pain. Right now I've got two that look like "Rustler" along with a Dalmatian and a Black Lab. I've always had a lot of pets, especially Dogs and their unconditional love has helped me through some of my darkest hours. I've always given them my...

    It's been fun

It's been a tough couple of years for just about everyone, no doubt about it. After more than 30 years of driving a company vehicle I was informed in May that those days were over. The dealership I work for was more than ready to make me into a "customer" but considering that my personal economy...

Will Frame Sliders listed for 2008-10 FJR fit my 2007?

I transfered the Yamaha accessory ones from my 06 to my 08, no problemo.

It's so hard to say goodbye--to Remi / they make it worse!

Three years ago and 8 days before we were leaving for our annual 2 weeks bike trip, I managed to break two bones in my left hand. I remember thinking how much all this sucks while sitting at the hospital looking at my x-ray and having it explained to me I wasn't going to be riding my motorcycle...

    Average age of FJR owners

54 In September, starting riding at 11 and haven't been without a bike since then. The FJR for what I am looking for in a bike anymore is a perfect fit, old man bike or no. Jenny and I will be leaving in August for a 5000 mile trip over two weeks. I've never owned another bike I could have even...

    AE's discontinued?

They are still being sold in Europe where they actually seem to sell pretty well, but North America is a different market. We seem to be stuck in a bit of a cruiser mindset with motorcycles being more of a recreational device than a main source of transportation, where in Europe motorcycles seem...

Magnetic tank bag harmful to paint?

I went to the local fabric store and picked up a piece of material of similar color to the tank along with some magnetic material like you find on refridgerator magnets. Cut the magnets into strips, sew into the edges of the material which I had cut to be just slightly larger than the bottom of...

    New 08AE Owner Information

I've had two regular clutch FJRs and two AEs. The AE is kick ass fun for me and my learning curve was long, say two blocks or so. Easy-peasy.

    A good price?

Anything south of 11k is a GOOD deal. Lots of members here jumped on the "leftovers" program in the last year and paid under 11k. Also, not all of these bikes are the same. Some have full factory warrenty, some do not. It's a question you will want to ask.

    What does this look like?

I've bought tires from them before and no problemo whatsoever. HOWEVER, I simply called the place to ask a question and took a boat load of shit from the guy who answered the phone. I wasn't confrontational, I simply stated I had a question on an order for some wheel weights I had just received...

    What does this look like?

Yup, definately not a place I'll be shopping at again. I ordered my weights from them the day before this thread popped up so I have been rather expecting to find a package on my door with a single weights in it. They did not disappoint as Saturday my three single weights arrived. Just for fun I...
