Other than "scraping" with a small pick, any and all other suggestions on how to get all that crud out of my connectors would be greatly appreciated !

Checked all plugs + hoses + injector to head boots + header to engine connections - everything I could think of to inspect. Pulled spark plugs checked them all - they all look good. It is still doing it. And there is definitely a miss at idle on cylinder 3 or 4. Any more ideas on things to...

yup ...... it "pops off real easy" ... and the switch was totally clean ( low beam is the "no contact" position - so a bad contact would only kill the high beams) Any idea what size the little ball bearing behind the spring WAS in the Hi/Lo Switch ? :o :o :o (it's gone now :( )...

Good ! That makes me think that the replacement parts will make 2nd gear more robust, with less chance of a repeated failure ....

Not any harder on this bike than I have been on all my others (riding "continuously" since 89), just "ahem" sustained high speeds tend to destroy tires VERY quickly .... I am VERY disappointed that a bike which I bought for reputed "bomb-proof" reliability turns out to have a "known" problem...

Definately not clutch slip ... I know what that is like Only occurs on full throttle accel, above 6K RPM, "slip" only occurs for about a half second or less ... doesn't occur every time ... Found the posts ... looks like the same problem lots of people had ..... Warranty ? Probably not ...
