A long and lonesome alternative out of Alturas is to go east on 299 to Cedarville, then south on CA81/NV 447. You will go through Gerlach and very little else until you get to I-80. There's gas in Cedarville and Gerlach, but just to be sure, fill in Alturas. tl

Like Toynut, I did it on my 05. There's an access cover behind the windshield. Remove it, look to the left and you will see the flasher. Next, you need real tiny, long, fingers preferably with some extra joints. I'm not sure the Kisan will fit into the Yam rubber holder. I Velcroed and zip...

I carry a cheap retractable cable lock (Master Lock product no 4603). It lives in my jacket pocket. Works with helmets with or without D-rings (e.g. Schuberth). tl
