    Brake Bleeding Tips

I'm not sure how I would check that. I can't see fluid leaking anywhere and I've been riding it a lot since doing the work (they're not awful, just not FJR worthy). I don't think I ran it dry this time. I did when I bled them several months ago for routine maintenance but after bleeding they...

    Brake Bleeding Tips

It's a way to cycle the ABS pump while the bike is parked. That's what I meant by right caliper, top bleeder in the original post. On GenII's the brakes are linked so the hand lever activates all six four pistons in the left caliper and four two on the right. I've now bled all of those -...

    Brake Bleeding Tips

After replacing seals on my left front (non-linked) caliper I've still got sponginess at the hand lever (GenII w/LBS & ABS). Here's what I've tried so far: MityVac'd fluid out the bottom bleeder. After the second bottle, I just started reusing the same clear fluid. I've put that same bottle...

    Milestones

Shortly after I made it through the door I took my credit card out and shredded it. If I hadn't been on the Feej, I'd have left with boots, another helmet and god knows what else. That place is a menace. Really, have a wonderful trip - I'm envious.

    Milestones

Looks like a beauty. On the way back, if I can help out in the Salt Lake area give me a call - you are taking the A.L. with you, right?. Sorry I didn't catch up with you while I was in Ohio a few weeks back (I think you were at CFR) but it was a great trip. I hope yours goes as well. My...

    Planned Ride

I hate both you guys. God, how I miss Colorado. When you pass through Montrose be sure to take a trip over to the Black Canyon, ride the rim and ride down to the dam/river. It's magnificent (and my favorite place on Earth). Have a wonderful trip (you bastard!).

    Ohio Radar Guns

Seems to me like it's a pretty well documented fact that traffic citations go up based on local fiscal conditions. At least according to this study. Plus I heard it from an ex-cop who's also an LD rider.

    Ohio Radar Guns

Not tryin' to call you out but if you have a reference for that I'd love to hear it. If it's a common thing then I'm surprised it made it to the state's Supreme Court (and garnered media coverage). I'm not recommending avoiding Ohio or any other state that takes this measure, I'm just saying...

    Ohio Radar Guns

As an Ohio native I'm downright embarrassed. Sounds more like something they'd do here in Utah. Based on that ruling I could get a ticket in my own garage during winter, sitting on the bike parked on it's center stand making "vroom, vroom" noises (yes I've been known to do that while suffering...

    Beadrider wanted

I just got one about two weeks ago and I gotta say, I'm not totally sold on it. So far it's a push compared to the stock seat. It will probably shine a little more when it gets hotter but a 400 mile day I did on it was not very inspiring. I do like that I can slide around more easily in the...

    Brake pad concern

Always tough with bikes when you can't say "driver's side" or "passenger side."

    Brake pad concern

Damn, I would've bet the house that it was the lower on the right hand side. Maybe I'm getting soft. mcatrophy - I have to thank you for all you pictures/posts. You've helped me out on many occasions.

    Brake pad concern

These things have rear brakes? :tomato: I was just into mine last week (installing PR2s ironically enough) and I had just one pad looking low. Left side caliper, inside pad - not the linked one. I swapped it with one of the ones that had more meat and braking seems to be good. I still...

    FJR Mileage Milestones

This sure is a humbling thread to read. I'm at 55k on my '06. I'm with Fjryder - we need more weekends during the week. Also would be nice if it didn't snow in late May...

    Skyway sliders

Mind if I ask what you're getting for them? I've got a pair sitting in my parts box I'm thinking of getting rid of. Never "tested" but have a bit of that pitting from riding around in the flow for 10 or 15K miles. Thanks and good luck.

    Pirelli Angel STs

It was a standard, non "E" spec. I run the recommended 39/42. Not sure why I get such longevity - guess I'm not flogging it hard enough. Handling seemed good until they squared off. I did think they squared a bit more then others I've run.
