What was Yamaha's Touring Bike before the FJR

Touring? The Venture Sport Touring? Fj1100 - 1200 And one of the most under rated bikes of all time.... The GTS

    Rotella T Synthetic question

I bought Rotella last March and it was the same as the jug on the right. So which is the new design?

    Low Speed Front End Oscillation

Hmm.. I thought that the Avons were the cause of the wobble. :eh: There was some chatter about Avon shod FJ's with the same symptoms on the FJ list a while back too. I know mine wandered like a drunk sailor at slow speeds, but seemed okay at speed, although very sensitive to any bar input...

    Going to Auburn WA

Well crap... I didn't see this until right now. I would have caged it down for a brewski with ya. I'm all of about 20 minutes away from Auburn too....

    PCIII

Wally had D&D cans and Billy's is bone stock, like mine. No mods, stock air cleaner. If you load the two and do a compare, it looks like there is a difference through out the range. Did I mention that a PCIII is the best thing since two ply toilet paper?

    PCIII

There's a thread below that had this link....... Link to Bill's Wally's map: https://www.fjr1300.info/misc/M409-BoneStock.djm That's where I got it from

    PCIII

I installed a PCIII last weekend. Man what a huge difference. I installed Billy's revision of Wally's map. I like Radman have a new bike! :D

    Heated Grips

A heat troller will handle it, but it's far too hot. You would only use maybe half of the range. I used the White wires and it's plenty warm at 40 F. Ironically the thicker the glove the better they work. The Red and white combo is the warmest of the two.

    Heated Grips

A crude but effective wiring diagram. It sounds like you have the Dual Star brand, which BTW are great! This is if you use a heat troller, which I highly recommend. Trust me, you do want one.

2006 FJR AE "Virtual Clutch©" Assembly

Bwa ha ha .... Fastfeejer, that was just about the funniest thing I've read here. Some people just don't get it. I actually got some nasty mail about my "Loud Valves Save Lives" sig. What the fook ever.... :beee:

Then have them custom made.

    FJR and the aftermarket

I believe removing or altering the cats is not legal in the US, so a full exhaust is out of the question for street use. Yeah other bikes have them for track use only. Dealers can not by law work on a de-smogged vehicle, unless it is to bring into compliance. i.e. "certified emission specalist"...

How good are the FJR1300 brakes

Well... the name.... ;) The concepts are the same, it's the way the actual distribution of braking forces and the way the bike responds with a fixed amount of opposite wheel brake application that are different. Either way some guy has decided what is the best amount of distribution for any...

How good are the FJR1300 brakes

The 2006 is unified braking. A little different in practice then linked. Personally I've rode bikes with linked brakes and the only one i even remotely cared for was the XX. But then again almost everything on that bike is sweet.

    A decent write-up on the 06

True no clutch lever. But it still has the toe shifter, and it's my understanding that you can use it instead of the paddle/switch shifter. The clutch actuation is the cool part. Hell, even I could build a simple paddle shifter to move the lever....

    Front ABS Test

Yeah we all know that the pavement is less abrasive and not nearly as hard when you are in "Grandma" mode.... Your gear is just as friendly in less then canyon carving mode. In other words, I'd rather sweat then bleed.

    Complimentary FJR Hats

Yeah it's just a hat. I didn't get mine. You would think that somebody at Yamaha would make sure that they had enough hats to give out before offering to give them out for free and then not being able to follow up. :erm:

What TBS Tool Do You Use?

Morgan. I've had mine for years and no problems. Worth the few extra dollars.

    Dealer Snafu

Huh? I'm with Rad... I don't get it. In order to get a big sent over, a Deposit of $500 must be paid to Cypress by the dealer. Cypress could care less who's name it's attached to. If somebody thnks that calling and complaining is going to make any difference, well good luck to you. Your...
