My E55 has metal hinged brackets with an indentation to keep the lid from closing on its own.. My E52 has plastic straps, but Givi sells replacement straps that are basically nylon ropes within a plastic tube and they are much better than the straight plastic ones.

Thanks R for your generous offer. I tried to PM you and it said "Failaner cannot receive PMs"... You would think the fairing would have been designed with the cutouts in place, since they are on the under side and are not visible.

Do they at least provide you with instructions on how to remove the fairing?

You need to load your pics on a pic hosting site, such as photobucket, or dropbox and then use the IMAGE icon to insert the link to the location of your pictures... I hope you can get them posted as we'd like to see them..

Thanks Richard for the pictorial... Well. I'm totally disappointed.. I really don't want to be removing the fairing and cutting it.. I may have to wait for a better aftermarket solution. For sale: Gen III OEM Yamaha sliders, brand new, never installed!!
