Maybe it’s old school thinking, but I always bring my battery in for the long winter and periodically attach a BT. It says in the Yamaha manual that a battery should not be stored in 30F or lower temps. It does get colder than that in my garage. Really not a big deal taking the battery out...

Nusman68-this may help answer a few of your questions between the 12R and the almighty Busa: Excellent link below that compares the two. In summary, the 12R has more horsepower than the Busa but the Busa wins the top-end race due to its superb aerodynamics. Enjoy. :D...
