If the tire is fairly new/in good shape otherwise - I'm a bigger fan of in-tire patches than plugs.

Always carry a couple of Bounce (or whatever your favorite) dryer sheets cut in half. Dip in water and then rub lightly in small circles. Bugs will come right off. Then rinse off with water hose or squeegee. Learned this when travelling across the panhandle of Florida. LOVEBUGS :angry:

With less than 1K miles on my '07 (bought it 8/26), I intend to ride this one stock for a few more miles. With that said - I will be buying a Russell Day-Long when I deploy next year (that way I won't be without the FJR while waiting for the seat).

Over the first four tanks of gas that I've put in my FJR - I've noticed the bike computer to be both optimistic and pessimistic in the AVG MPG. So far, the diffeence has been off by as much as 4 MPG. I usually rely on my calculator, but I wanted to see just how close the computer was.

I've only had the bike a week!! :shok: And had 880 miles on it when I dropped it off at the dealer for the 600 mile service yesterday.

I typically ride year-round - so that won't work for me. :o I do have another deployment coming up in about a year, though. :tiredsmiley: Guess that would be the perfect time to send my seat off for mods. :dntknw: I have a throttle rocker. Forgot to mention that.
