    Barbarian Jumper Mod on 06

#1: 5 #2: 18 #3: 18 #4: 21 Not a tough job- had a little issue of getting the white clip to come back out to the locked position- but then it "clicked" and all was well. Seems to run smoother- time will tell. Thanks to the board for putting this mod together~

    Morgan Carbtune II- Backorder

No mercury in this one- it uses steel rods suspended in the tubes instead. One reason I want this particular unit.

    Morgan Carbtune II- Backorder

Anybody know an alternate source for Carbtunes??? Cal Sport Touring says late august!~ I'd like to get this bike sorted now- not late august! Any alternate sources out there- Canada?? Direct from England?? Anybody got any ideas?

    Oil change near-mishap

I laughed when I saw that- I'm not used to bikes with bodywork yet... but what the hell, I'll give it a try~

    Oil change near-mishap

What's with the tin foil? Can't you just use a rag aferwards??? I mean, you're gonna go over the area with a rag anyway to get the oil from the filter- is there some other use for the foil???

    V-Stream for '06 yet???

I ordered the V-Stream for my '06 from Gary McCoy at U. Motors. Anybody heard an updated delivery for this thing??? He thought early July when I ordered, but since nobody's posted anything I figgered I'd ask around~

    Taming the beast

Hey Fred- What would you think about putting a series of zip ties on the cable itself??? Something that would center the cable in the pulley, but not allow it to get wedged or stuck??? I'm thinking that if the cable didn't go all the way down into the pulley the effect would be the same, yes?

Throttle Body Sync ... It's that time again!

FYI- as of two weeks ago, the Morgan Carbtunes are on back order (Cal Sport Touring)- expected delivery delays of two to three weeks. I'm in week three and waiting.......

    So long new 2006 FJR!

Finally- a rational response to a complaint about the FJR?! Incredible! I'll do the PC III if that's what it takes- once it's available. I'll do whatever it takes to get this thing right- I absolutely love the FJR design- but for whatever reason mine is an unruly bitch to get on and off...

    '06 excessive driveline lash

So was the Power Commander your way of "humbling out" or of "learning the characteristics of the bike"???
  12. J

    '06 excessive driveline lash

We're not talking about your bike- we're talking about mine. Mine has an abrupt throttle response. Period. I've had many bikes, been riding on the street for 25 years and understand throttle modulation- so do the 3 other folks who have ridden my bike. All were veteran riders. Maybe it's a...

    '06 excessive driveline lash

Have you ridden my bike??? Didn't think so~ How's that for perspective??? Four people have ridden my bike- all four have commented on the problem. Sorry if it dents your ego to think there might be an issue with some 2006 FJRs... Now we learn that there's a change in the throttle pulley on...

    '06 excessive driveline lash

I've been following your thread, Fred. I love the creativity and the "can do" attitude that it took to address your issue... I have a little fear of getting the throttle cable stuck between the pully and the copper insert- and causing an open throttle? What are your thoughts on the safety...

    '06 excessive driveline lash

Well, if you are correct that they're supposed to be this way, then it is a defect- in the design of the beast. Listen, low speed throttle modulation is key to rideability. That's just part of building a great motorcycle- you nail the driveline issues or you catch hell for it in the press and...

    Taming the beast

Ummm.... yeah- So you loosen your drain plug by putting your face next to the engine and turning the drain clockwise too, then???
  17. J

    Taming the beast

Pretty sure you've gotta go counter clockwise on the downstream portion of the connector on the throttle cable- Making the two sections farther apart and taking up the slack....then tighten the nut back up to secure things in place. IIRC

    Taming the beast

It ain't a '69 GTO folks- it's entirely possible to make a tractable bike with 146 HP. Ever ridden a Hyabusa???

    Taming the beast

I figure it's worth a shot- as stated above, I can always go back to "stock". I'm gonna do whatever it takes- and work my way toward the PCIII as the final step. Are there any warrantee issues with adding a PCIII- or any of the other suggested fixes in this thread? I've already gone with...
