    SHAD topcase for '06

Hi guys. Yes, I have installed a SH48 SHAD topcase on my '06. It was one of the first things I ordered way back in November as I recall. I got it from Claudio Ferrer at Adventure Moto down in West Palm Beach. Claudio is a very nice and helpful vendor. The universal mount works very well on...

Hugger group buy THIS WEDNESDAY , the 31st!!!

Finished up my order with Franck while ago. Got the unpainted version since I didn't think the $110.00 price to paint the hugger to match the '06 silver trim was worth the money. I'll get it painted when it gets here if I don't like the looks of the unpainted version. I too paid $143.20 plus...

    2006 FJR Service Manual

Yes, that's what the Yamaha manual publisher/distributor...or whatever they are... told me way back when I order mine early this year. As stated by others, they sent me the '03 through '05 and the '06 supplement was to follow, supposedly sometime around the end of April. They told me to keep...

    '06 Magnum blaster installation

Thanks Fred. I understand you point about the grommets purpose. It seems to me that I was able to retain a good deal of "vibration" room...as compared to using the complete unaltered grommet... by using my method on the reworked factory rubber grommets. Do you thing we will have a clearance...

    '06 Magnum blaster installation

Well Fred...and FJRandy..., I redid my mounting brackets last night per Fred's suggestion. I think they would have stayed on OK had I done nothing; but, why take a chance with them since it only takes a few minutes to remove them. I ended up using a little over 1/2 of the rubber grommet by...

    '06 Magnum blaster installation

Fred: Yeah, I see what you are saying. Tried to find some thinner washers in my stock but couldn't find any that were thinner than the OEMs. Might try just removing the grommet as you suggest. Sure don't want one of those bad boys to fall off during flight ;) . Thanks, Fjrtn

    '06 Magnum blaster installation

Got my Freeway Blasters installed last night :yahoo: . Thanks Fred for the info you supplied yesterday. Stopped by my local Advance Auto store and picked up a fog light relay for around $11.00 as I recall. It worked perfectly for this job. Followed the FJRTech wiring instructions which...

    Tankslapper Kit 06

Guys...don't get so upset and discouraged. It took me a while to figure out where the '06 pieces went since I had already installed my friends kit on his '04. I believe the '06 kit pieces are all different except for the bags. The two pieces (one with one hole goes on the left side sitting on...

    '06 Magnum blaster installation

Thanks a bunch Fred! Really appreciate your response to my questions, and as usual, your answers will be most helpful :yahoo: . Have you decided to tackle the Audiovox CC yet? I have had mine for about 6 mo. now but have been waiting for the bike to come (got it right after you got yours)...

    '06 Magnum blaster installation

Got my Fiamm "Freeway Blasters" at O'Riely's yesterday for $14.99 ea. Fred - What kind of relay did you use and are there any wiring tricks one should know? Was really hoping you would have some pictures posted over night :clapping: . Oh, one other question, did you take anything apart in...

    Tankslapper Kit 06

Thanks pawtracks. Don't know why I didn't think of this first, but went to the Tankslapper site, and sure enough, Lucas has added the layout of the '06 pieces! It is now clear to me where the extra pieces belong. Appreciate your feedback. Fjrtn

    Tankslapper Kit 06

GreyGoose: Yes the '06 Tankslapper kits are cut and shipping. I just received mine last week (after having to return the incorrect '05 and earlier version, but Tankslapper...Lucas...couldn't have been more helpful in the exchange) and installed it over the weekend. Everything went on...

Lifting the tank on an '06 and wire routing

Fred: Mine was really, really tight! But, it finally cracked and popped and broke loose. Doubt it is cross threaded. Good luck! Fjrtn

    Let the Farkeling Begin

Thanks guys. Got my radios (CB and FRS); radar detector/cell phone and all those type goodies wired up and RAM mounted last night. Looks like everything is working well but have not tried everything out since it was late when I got done. It is always nerve racking whenever you start drilling...

    Let the Farkeling Begin

Got my new bike from Morristown Motor Sports, Morristown, TN last Friday afternoon. Sold my 03 Goldwing back in September of '05 so I have been without a ride for 8 long months! But, looks like the FJR will be worth the wait and aggravation of the PDP program! The ergos of the FJR are very...

    CB Radio

dcarver: I have one to install on my new '06 when it arrives. Got a Cobra HH38WXST "Roadie" (has an external antenna) an I will run it through my Autocom with the appropriate interface cord. Autocom suggested this make and model to me if I just had to use a CB (they don't suggest using them)...

    Top case with lights?

Double: Glad you picked up on this. Please let us know what you end up with. I'm coming off a Goldwing GL1800. My wife wouldn't even consider riding now without all the creature comforts she is accustomed to ;) . Fjrtn

    Top case with lights?

Double: Just ordered and received a SHAD SH48 Top Case for my '06 FJR. They are made in Spain and the quality I think is near Givi. The cost is less too! I got the brake light and back rest with mine. Also, the mounting hardwar and plate come with the SHAD case which saves even more ;) ...
