    Spray-on paint protection

I ended up buying a can of clear ArmorAll Custom Shield, since it's 1) the same as PlastiDip and 2) clear PD wasn't available anywhere near me. Covered top halves of both bags with 4 coats. You have to wait until one coat dries before applying the next, so the whole process took about an hour...

Thank you all for the help and suggestions!

    Brake light flasher

Thanks. I've seen it done with other bikes, but never on the FJR. Maybe it's an overkill. Just seems like a cleaner install and if something goes wrong with the flasher, you can take it off, reconnect and go.

    Brake light flasher

Eventually I am going to add LED lights to the rear of the bike. In the meantime, I want to install a brake light flasher module (similar to this https://www.ebay.com/itm/261044312180?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649), but want to avoid splicing the wire. I was thinking it...

    Spray-on paint protection

Yeah, I looked into Plasti Dip. Pretty good idea and very reasonably priced. There's also ArmorAll Custom Shield, which seems to be re-branded PlastiDip. They have a $10 rebate offer on it at Pep Boys https://www.pepboys.com/sale_specials/coupons/armor_all_custom_shield_rebate_may13/

    Spray-on paint protection

Thanks for your reply. I'm going to try one of these on the bags and the trunk. I'm also thinking about applying a coat to the headlights.

    Spray-on paint protection

Last time we met, one of my riding buddies mentioned that there's a spray you can apply to your bike parts that will protect them from dirt and dings and can be peeled off when needed. I looked into it and there are actually a few products out there that will do this: 3M Paint Defender...

    Canyon cages

Had a friend help me install them. It was pretty straight-forward and easy.

    Action cameras and falling prices.

Glad to be of help. I've owned a ContourRoam for the past couple years and use it pretty often. I like quality of the video it takes, the ease of use and the way it's built. Bought the Roam2 now and am planning on mounting it to the Canyon Cage for an alternate-angle view. BTW, not sure about...

Congrats on a new bike! You picked a nice color P.S. I couldn't resist the 2013 either...

    Action cameras and falling prices.

I've used mine (Contour HD) for the past 2 years and am very happy with it. While it will not produce broadcast-quality footage, it's good enough to watch on any device and the TV as well. I also like the form factor and the big slide switch that can be used with gloves. Don't like the way...

    Action cameras and falling prices.

If you're into filming your rides, here are two alternatives to regular video cameras. They're both on clearance at WorstBuy, so at these prices, even if you lose one, it's not that big of a deal Contour Roam2 $100: black...
