    Seats

I just bought a Sargent seat last week. So far , so good. Not that I have anything against Russell other than my 30" inseam that would've made touching the ground a little challenging. I've heard nothing but good things about the Russell though. Because of the good press that Russell get...

Saddlemen Track-style seat - First and Last Impressions

I know there are those out there on this forum that yearn for a better seat. And some of those wanted a review on the aforementioned seat. Not coming from a street bike background (this is my 1st one, motocross bikes is my background), I assumed that the OEM seat was okay for a sport-touring...

Gen 1 rider EB on High Pass @ Oaklea on 0717110 @ 1830

Curious who that rider was that cruised by at the listed date and time. If your local, I'd like to ride with you.

    WFO

Dang! I would roll with you if I wasn't taking the family camping that weekend. However, I'm up for riding any other time. I'm out of Junction City so I'm not to far from you.

    Newbie with a 2009

+1 on the motovation sliders. I've got 'em. 0 mph on her side in the garage, slightly scratches on the side bag.

GenMar Risers & Cee Baileys Shield

I just installed the GenMar risers too. Overall, I like 'em. Made me feel like I was sitting lower in the seat and that's ok. Steering took a little getting used to. Oh yeah, that steering head nut was fun. I had to use a 2foot long breaker bar. Happy trails!

    Where to start?

Frame sliders. Sorry, had to throw it out. I put them on shortly after I got my '08. Not more than a couple weeks later and a little off balance while taking her off the center stand, and she's laying on her starboard side. If it wasn't for the sliders, she would have sustained more than...

    Riding Pants

I consider these pants to be water resistant. We got caught in a day long downpour on a coast loop ride through Winchester Bay, Oregon. They soaked through where the water was able to pool up in waist area. I think they're decent pants as long as downpours are not in progress.

First good ride on new (to me) FJR

Congrats on your new bike. Looks really clean from your pics. I, like UHOH, wear ear plugs when I ride so I can't comment about the noise. My aftermarket Remus Hexacone exhaust still sounds great even with the plugs(just something to consider in terms of aftermarket exhaust if your into...

Started the process of considering an FJR

I'm just gonna add to the exhaust question. I run the Remus Hexacones. Useless Pickles did quite a bit of posting on this forum and YouTube. It was a lot of his leg work that lead me to my purchase of the cones. I'm pretty happy w/ them. I run them w/o the baffles and I think the sound and...

    Motorcycle Accidents and Riding gear

As an investigator of vehicle crashes, I have found that leather has better abrasion resistence than any other material. I can only advise on leather, mesh, nylon and denim. Seems like the leather holds up better by remaining intact. Mesh and nylon are good but depending upon the distance of...

    Handgun on a bike

In Oregon, it's pretty easy to get a concealed carry permit. I just wanted to mention and address what I carry. I feel that a gun is better than no gun. This leads into the gun that I carry when I ride. It's a Kel-Tec .380. Sure, it's a small caliber but I'd rather have something than...

    break-in procedure

Depending upon where you are in the mileage, I used the Motoman method to break in my FJR and have been happy with the results. I feel as if it has the power I need to ride properly with the cages around me. I have broken in new 2-stroke and 4-stroke racing dirt bikes over the years as well as...
