2008 FJR AE For Sale In Georgia

Sent you a pm. Miss my '08AE I sold last year.

craiglist DC 2007 AE low miles, decent price

Seems like a high price, you can buy a new 2009 AE at numerous places around the country for under 12K. I even found a couple that based on a phone disucssion with the dealer I could have gotten out the door for under 11K.

    FS: FJR1300AE 4900miles, extras

Bump for a nice bike. For all you posters, you're interested in buying the bike or you're not. If not, don't post. Unless of course you're politely trying to bump this to the top.

    SOLD! 2008 FJR1300 w/11853 miles on it - $8500 OBO - IN VA.

Plus you saved yourself the time and agony of "potential" buyers.... Took me months to sell my FJR and though I got few calls/lookers, they still took up a lot of my time for little return. Your deal makes complete sense to me.

2008 AE For Sale In N. GA

Airport question is related to someone agreed upon a sale with you and brining cash in hand. Definitely a purchase pickup (fly and ride) and not just to look at the bike. Thanks for the info, will mull it over.

2008 AE For Sale In N. GA

Is this as flawless at it appears (ie no boot scuffs on the bags, scratches, etc)? If used for commuting, did it sit outside? Willing to pick someone up at the Atlanta airport? Thanks, Marc

    MPG Improvement?

If it was off, then I would expect performance to improve and not be surprised to see mileage improve a touch. THings are being more efficient with a good TBS.

    Frame Slider 07

If I remember correctly, they are shaped a little differently. They protrude the same amount on each side once installed.

I think I might need a new rear tire

I've found most tires (PR's most recently) tend to wear out VERY FAST near the end of their life (as you've discovered). To the point if I'm doing a cross country tip and they are getting pretty worn I'll replace them first.

    New bike

Sounds like a good buy! As others said, I'd ride some miles on it before adding stuff. I found after 1500 miles on my new to me '08 I only added a few little things.

    Trailering your bike

I'd go enclosed, otherwise any bit of rain/road construction/etc. is going to provide one very dirty bike. I don't mind riding in stuff like that, but an open trailer will really circulate all that crap into every part of the bike (even more than riding in that stuff).

    Drilling Steering Stem Nut

Haven't had to mess with forks in years, but if I remember correctly the idea was to loosen the lower triple clamp pinch on the forks, axle nut, and axle pinch bolts. Then gently compress/release the forks a number of times. Then retighten from the top down. I'll have to look at the FJR Manual...

    I Mounted A Frankentank

Great job! Agree on just a little extra gas making a big difference. I'd like to go 300 before needing to stop.

    Drilling Steering Stem Nut

What issues arise from using the steering stop as a brace to torque the steering stem nut?? THanks.

    The Toy Hauler Travel Trailer

We picked up a toyhauler in 2009. Hard to find a smaller one, but very happy with the Keystone Passport 23 foot we bought. Now we can take the dogs (3) with us. It is truly 1/2 ton towable (using both a 2002 F150 supercab, 4.6L and a 2010 super crew with a 4.6L). Reluctantly have it up for sale...

    The Big FJR Tire Poll

Really happy with the PR2's on both my old R1100RS and my FJR. Getting good mileage out of them too.

Sanity Check on my motorport order please

Oh, and congrats on the weight loss!! My wife lost a significant amount of weight (and has kept it off for ten years now) and now works for weight watchers.

Sanity Check on my motorport order please

I bought the MotoPort Kevlar pants a few years back. As requested, I sent them a pair of jeans that fit me comfortably (especially when on the bike and with my riding boots). They used them as the template and I got the jeans and a pair of perfect fitting Kevlar pants back. Great service and I...

    Heated Grips...

Very slick looking and seem priced right. Haven't seen them in use anywhere yet. Must admit I'm pretty happy with the FJR stock heated grips - only comparison is BMW heated grips I've had over the years.
