    Shoei QWEST

Something I've used for a long time now, avoid the sweaty helmet thing, is a schampa stretch skull cap. You can also wash the inside of a helmet without removing the liners. I've heard of some that just take a garden hose and some dish soap... rinse well, let it dry. I'm in Arizona, and with...

    Shoei QWEST

Here's a good place to get one. The solid yellow is actually more expensive than the original graphics right now... amazing really. 270 something for the graphics and 349 for the yellow. I have one and really like it... it's all about the fit, and it fits my head shape perfectly. by the...

Let me be the first .....

Well I'm surprised... that this thread would turn into anything but congratulatory sentiment... Now we have goats... bad daddy's... Selma!... incest... I don't know what to say! Where's Bust? He'd know what to say ;)

Opinion on Garmin Nuvi 50 GPS?

Not to get too diverted from the op question but... The 780 has another cool feature not on most of the newer gps. It can broadcast with FM radio. It's easy to search on the net for FM stations not being used, and tune the 780 to that station, now tune yer (say) little Sansa Clip to same...

Opinion on Garmin Nuvi 50 GPS?

I can't tell if you could download a route created by (the freely available) 'Base Camp' or not. My Nuvi 780 you can. It's an older (5 yrs or so), just put a new battery in it. Works fine. And sure, while they aren't highly visible in sunlight, they work okay enough imho. One of the most...

    funny

anybody that thinks that's funny is a pathetic scum bag. That's about as immature and childish as it gets.

    Who's dropped their FJR?

you'ze guyz is funneeee ;) but one thing I'd say to the OP... just buy sliders... don't worry if someone says they work or someone else says they don't. they are better than nothing we can all agree on that. side note, did not drop my feej in 15k of ownership. But the first, very first...

    Stem Nut Thermometer?

I like to refer to mine as a Nut Stem Thermometer... It's a more accurate description and certainly better than saying simply... johnson. Hey!! don't get on my case you Manatee luvin goat fugers!! U know who u are! It is still Friday right? ;)

    emergency / kill switch ?

If u drop your wallet in San Francisco, you should kick it to LA before u pick it up.

    Lower Seats

That's such an excellent thing to do, wonder why more people don't think of that? In the UK they have a completely different system of getting a moto license. They HAVE to start out on smaller more maneuverable bikes. It takes them like 3 YEARS before they can ride a 1300 cc bike. I really...

    emergency / kill switch ?

Completely Agree Skootie. When teaching the Experienced Rider Course I just explain why the MSF recommends something, then it's up to them to go ahead and do it or not. But new riders in the BRC they want them to follow those specific things. I still find the time to explain why though, as it...

    emergency / kill switch ?

I hear ya... and work with many of these MSF guys every day. It really should be thought of (and presented by them) as a "Best Practice" kind of thing. Of course, obviously, there are many ways to accomplish the same thing (the same could be said about cornering). but think about this... how...

    Lower Seats

Yes absolutely, some boots can help. Have never worn MX boots so not sure on those. Another thing to keep in mind, we do get better and better at handling a too high seat height over time. My current bike is definitely too high for me, so it's just the left foot down at stops. I'm certainly at...

    emergency / kill switch ?

Even better Fred! Let's just put a kick stand on them! That should definitely do the trick!!

    Lower Seats

Did a quick search and found this thread: Lower your seat; not your bike Lowering the bike is an absolute last resort to me. If there's anything else you can do that might work, that's what I'd try first. A guy in Florida (Spencer) does a great job lowering seats and modifying the foam...

    what's the deal with ladders?

Emergency Swerve... we ain't gonna miss that crap if ya don't know how... maybe ya prefer to just 'go with luck'? in the immortal words of Clint; 'are ya feelin lucky today... punk?'

Say hello to my new friend

Coincidentally ;) Taught a ERC this morning at the Air Force Base. Guy on an identical bike showed me just how good the ABS is on those bikes. It was phenomenal really. The threshold for when to release and when not to was the best ABS I've ever seen. Great looking bike :)
