2nd Gear got bit by the Dragon

Good question Chuck. From what I've read, over the years on this forum, it seems to be a result of abuse (obviously) or, in some cases it seems, "hard shifting". As we've heard from many posters, the dealership (re hard shifting) will always say "keep breaking it in, it will be okay". And in...

I hate this sor to crap...

sheeesh man I'll tell ya... it's too much sometimes. So it looks like he may not even have been on his bike, just setting up a blockade. More of a "news" thing then anything else, maybe. Good find on that stuff bro.

I hate this sor to crap...

this is a link to what happened in Florida in Obama;s motorcade... No matters what your political party, this is a tragedy, of course it is, no doubt about it. But what happened? did someone cross the center and run into the motorcyclist? or was it something else? Can anyone tell? I can't...

At Wits end.. This close to selling New 2009 AE

+1 Same experience here with my A model fjr. I would use the fjr for riding the demo's of the MSF ERC. When doing the "clutch control lane" there was always some slop in the drive train unless I was pretty heavy with the rear brake. It certainly wouldn't hurt to try keeping a little throttle...

    Reving throttle kills cold engine

Have to agree with others and ask... why are u revving it up right off the bat? I don't think any motorcycle ever made is going to revv properly just after you start it. They all need to warm up.

    NEP throttle lock install?

the Vista Cruise or NEP will need slight mods to make them work, it's not that hard. Personally prefer the VC as it's a bit more sturdy and durable, but the NEP is a good product too. This is my solution to install...

    Throttlemeister

Agree with Jake (and others) completely. The TM looks great! No doubt about that. But in practical use, don't care for it. The Vista, as said, just your thumb engages and disengages it. You don't have to change your speed one iota. You can flick it on and off in a second, even use it in...

So that's why you shoulder check at a stop.

That really does suck. I mean, the start of a well planned vacation, looking forward to some fun... then this... Hope you don't mind a couple of questions; you mentioned not having it in gear at the stop, would it have helped to have stopped in first and been ready "to go"? I'm not really sure...

Horrible Motorcycle Crash Last Weekend on the 101.

This one is just really unbelievable, this one really gets to me. Basically, as motorcyclists, what can you possibly do if someone is going the wrong way, especially in the HOV lane? I mean if you're coming around a corner and you don't see them with any notice at all, and they're speeding...

Magic Jack Plus - using and comments?

The one I use is called Net Talk Duo. Have had great experience with it. This is the first one that connects to your router, MJ created one after that. In the end do you save? You bet you do. iirc, the service is 29 a year, includes long distance to US and Canada. I rarely have issues with...

    I am back - and I have a story

I think yer reading too much into what the OP has said. He didn't say he was "leaning forward" to turn the bike, only that it handled better doing that. And he's right. Any time we get our upper body weight off the grips, and relax our arms (lean forward) it means we aren't fighting input into...

    It bears repeating...

One way to do this is to go to an empty parking lot and really really counter weight the bike, and ride around in a tighter and tighter circle. Counter weight it as dramatically as you can: slide your butt off the seat, put all your weight on the outside foot peg, lean the bike in for all it's...
