The Really, Definitely Completely Un-Authorized TBS

Yes, the idle with the air bypass screws closed was off. Quick adjustment was all that was needed. Took it for a spin and wow. No vibration at 65 to 75 mph. Also when you labour the engine at low rpm it seems to pull better without as much complaining. I will do my friend's bike next and see the...

The Really, Definitely Completely Un-Authorized TBS

They were way off. BTW, it sounds sooo good when you dial in the idle as you get closer to the ballance point, you can just hear that engine starting to purr. Almost the same when you ballance out a Ferrari v12 with the stupid bosch fuel injection.

The Really, Definitely Completely Un-Authorized TBS

Well, last night I finally had the chance to do the TBS. I was surprised at what I found. First I managed to set up the fuel tank next to the bike so I had lots of room for adjustments. The bike now has about 1300 miles on it. All the idle adjust screws were set the same at 5/8th of a turn. The...

The Really, Definitely Completely Un-Authorized TBS

There are a number of things you need to check. If you are concerned about a vacuum leak between the throttle body and the head, you will need to use a smoke machine. You may need to ask a reputable repair garage (automotive) and see if they can help you. I own a repair facility and have all...

Modular helmet or solid..which do you prefer?

Bought my Schuberth C3 direct from Germany and saved substantial money. It is by far the best helmet I've ever owned. It vents real nice and is super quiet considering it is a modular. Ok, got to go.......go riding.. :bike:

    Meeces in the Air Box

I hate the smell of mothballs. There is another option that works really well. It is an electronic mouse detractant. It plugs into the wall and it emits a noise we can't hear but a mouse can. It thinks it hears another dominant mouse. The mice will just stay away. Your wife will be happy as...

The Really, Definitely Completely Un-Authorized TBS

Thanks Fred W That's exactly what I wanted to try. If after doing this sequence, there is no difference between idle and load, then in the future, the load calibration won't be needed. I'm still waiting for the tool to set it up. I plan to do it at the same time as installing the cruise...

Need good deal on Schuberth helmet

Took over 2 weeks to get it but well worth it. This helmet is super light. It is quiet and ventilated excelent. Excelent vision through the visor. I wish they make snowmobile helmets like that.

My Impressions of the MV Motorrad Bar Riser

The Really, Definitely Completely Un-Authorized TBS

I would take the measurement, then shut it down, then adjust and re-try. As long as no-one has done it, I don't mind being first. As for safety, than is easy to overcome with some common sense. Just proper secure the front tire down so it won't lift and be prepared for centrifical forces. I'll...

The Really, Definitely Completely Un-Authorized TBS

First of all, sorry to bring up an old thread, but I couldn't find an answer to my question in later threads. There was talk about calibrating the throttle plates at 4ooo rpm and the engine running away at that rpm. Somebody said it would be great to do this on a dyno as it would create real...

    AE 1st gear

I'm sooo surprised you are having a problem with the initial engagement of the AE clutch upon throttle tip-in. I just started riding my first 07 AE that just had 1000 miles on it. It is buttery smooth. Look for the links that talk about soaking the clutch plated. This may just do the trick, but...

Next best seat to Russell seat

Well, the most riding I do is about 2 hrs. per day. With the OEM seat, 30 minutes is too long. The Sargeant seat sounds ok. Do they make more than one style?

Next best seat to Russell seat

The Russell seat has nothing but great reports about it, but I can't see putting one of those on my bike. It really throws of the nice look of the bike. A nice sleek machine with a couch on top. What would be the next most comfortable seat I can get. I'm a tall guy so I have no problem reaching...

After less than two months with an AE.......shame on Yamaha Customer Service

I would say it is the dealer that had the most to loose and it is the dealer that didn't follow up with great customer service. It isn't up to Yamaha to fix the bike, but rather the selling dealer's problem. You have to understand that at most dealerships, the sales department and the service...
