Some LEDs to light the way.

Yes, I did a complete replacement of Gen3 rear lighting with LEDs, including the license plate light. I detailed my info here -> https://www.fjrowners.com/threads/new-to-me-2013-fjr.153887/page-4?post_id=1305394#post-1305394 for the brake light bulbs. Here ->...

Whew, I feel better knowing you have the aluminum one and not the upgraded plain black plate.

Not associated in any way, just passing along a darn good price for the whole Gen2/3 set up. https://www.fjrowners.com/threads/givi-g46-monokey-system-with-mounting-plate.159627/

Does anyone ride between 6-7k rpm's?

Absolutely! As is typical nowadays folks want to make it either/or when it's not so extreme as implied by some here. Hooligans might (likely) sometimes cruise and cruisers might (likely) sometimes hooligan. I love riding twisties in the hooligan zone but folks seem to think I ride at 85mph...

Let's talk about this "upgraded support rack". What exactly (picture will help) do you have to use with the OE box? If it's the plain Yamaha black mount plate that just bolts on top of the grab rack, it will NOT keep you from breaking off the *** end of your bike.

If you're considering a factory top case, start with the aluminum mount rack, I believe it's 1MC-F48D0-V0-00. Then decide which size, 39L or 50L. Now tha said, I had a factory box and switched to GIVI. SR357 mount comes with everything you need, box ordered separately. Truct me when I say-...

Does anyone ride between 6-7k rpm's?

Sure, in the twisties. Lower gear, higher rpm of course. Minimizes shifting and braking. Sweet spot? Kinda like seats- everyone likes something a little different. YOUR sweet spot is what works for YOU.

Do you prefer riding jeans, or textile?

I've been searching through pants: order, return losing money on 2nd shipping and restocking, repeat. Anyone know anywhere that actually stocks them any more to try on before throwing money down the *******?

    "upgraded" from my 2007 to a 2018

Glad you made it out relatively unscathed! I too "upgraded" from an '07 to a Gen3 '13 and I'm glad I did. Almost everything is better especially the cruise control. Being techno-challenged I also had major trouble with the menu thing but after about a year of constantly F'ing with it I think...

    Fuel Gauge

This ->https://www.fjrowners.com/threads/how-to-get-the-fuel-pump-out-past-the-little-white-tab-the-trick-revealed.159493/ looks like an extremely useful thread when the time comes for pump removal.

    Road Noise

I've noticed a roar begins when front tire pressure gets down to about 37psi. What's yours?

    Cracks in the Aft SubFrame

I guess no one mentioned the Admore harness? No wire splicing needed.

    Top trunk rack availability?

https://www.fjrowners.com/threads/rear-carrier-rack.159327/. Rumor has it this will accommodate both the 39L and the 50L topcase.

Steering Head Roller Bearing - Upgrade or Boondoogle?

I found adding 25-30% to the FSM spec works fine.

Steering Head Roller Bearing - Upgrade or Boondoogle?

I've never heard someone complain that roller bearings didn't fix or that they worsened the problem.

Steering Head Roller Bearing - Upgrade or Boondoogle?

I can only relate my experience with my '07 as I did earlier in this thread: My '07 had the decel wobble from day 1 and zero miles. I had little to no relief with tire pressures, different tires, suspension settings, bearing repack & retorque, fork/front wheel torque sequence, fork service or...

Mixing Michelin Road 6 GT and 4 GT?

Don't mind these a-holes. Mixing tires is a norm. Go for it!
