Battery in or out during winter.

If someone were to use Stabil/Seafoam, how long do you think it would take to cycle through the system? Glenn

OK, need some new owner advice for FJR please

In addition to the manual you can go to www.fjrtech.com or www.fjr1300info.com and copy off any article pertaining to what you want to do. I actually have a notebook of copied articles to reference when I want to work on the bike. pics included, not drawings. Glenn

That European source may be the same one that supplied Bike Johnny, as they are out of England.

    Harley 100hp club???

Was he talking at the crank or at the rear wheel. Your reply was a slight exaggeration if talking at he crank. A much bigger exaggeration at the rear wheel. FJR at the crank is officially 145hp, 124-128 at the rear wheel. Still much better than 100. Glenn

2 months into the new bike...

Spook, If both eyes are corrected perfectly your depth perception should be perfect. The farther away 1 eye is from perfect distance the more depth perception you will loose. At 52 if the near eye is corrected at 16 inches you won't have any depth perception. However if its corrected at 3 feet...

2 months into the new bike...

For most of you 52 and younger the speedometer should be far enough away from you that it should be clear IF YOUR DISTANCE is corrected perfectly. Its possible that some of you are slightly farsighted, which will exacerbate the near problem. If thats fixed the speedo should come in. As you get...

Saddlebags and YES for the FJR

You're not listening. Don't pay for anything. Go back to the dealer and tell them you want your panniers. If they don't give them to you call Cypress and tell them whats going on. They should come down hard on dealers like this.

Something All FJR Owners Should Know

Hi OCfjr, yes I hang around, though I tend to keep quiet if I don't have anything worth saying. LOL I do spend some time over at the OWNERS forum too. Sorry to hear about all your FJR travails. I'm keeping positive that its not a huge problem. Glenn

Something All FJR Owners Should Know

Thanks Fred, It sounds like somrthing I can handle. Well maybe not the interpretation part, but there seems to be alot of guys here that can help with that part once I have some numbers. I take it the gauge reading doesn't show a certain percentage lower than normal. I'll google that right up.

Something All FJR Owners Should Know

Since it seems we'll now wait till Ocfjr does his own compression test, I have a question that I hope is appropriate here. How hard is the compression test to perform and whats a rough estimate of the cost of the gauge? I'm no mechanic, though I've done all my own service so far, including TBS...

    Unbelievable!

There's nothing surprizing in the "I'm number 1" world we live in. I'm entitled because I found it. Oh I didn't see anybody laying in the ditch. Sickening.

    What touches down next..

The front out side edge of the can on the left. and the outside edge of the rear brake lever on the right. After that everything touches down in equal measure.

What to do - scratched sidebag

Go with Garauld, no doubt. On the way to NAFO my right sidecase came unlatched. When Petey and I stopped for gas he noticed the lid hanging down as I was pulling in. I lost the contents unfortunately I hadn't bothered with the cinching the bag in with the tie down vords. When I closed the...

    We Lost A Great Friend

I've been out about a week, and am now in shock. This is like getting blindsided by a Mack truck. I'm in shock. My prayers and heart felt sympathies to the family. I will miss his wit and humor immensely. Glenn

    FJR Maybe

It is a bit top heavy. Especially when full of gas. They did fix the heat issue compared to the pre 06 models. It is about like any other 1300cc bike in that regard. There are several women riders here but I'm not sure of their height. There are "dogbone " lowering kits available and the...

Scatches in left fairing, by tank

I don'y know anything about this kind of stuff, which is why I have sent my left saddle bag to Garauld. I thought once you see white scratches in the paint you were actually all the way through the paint to the plastic. Thus, not salvageable. Glenn
