    2018 in the crate

LOL, It would all work except for the 21 yr old part. My kids are older than that, and my warranty has expired. More power to her; she sound like a great person, and you sound like an experienced dad.

    Ivan's ECU Flash

That sounds great, George! Thanks for being the guinea pig, and for posting your impressions. Looks like this is a winner. I only have two questions: Do you access the third drive mode with the same switch, and does it register on the display?

    Ivan's ECU Flash

After reflecting on this and reading all of the details, I believe I'm going to do this. I'm not after HP gains, but I remember how the Power Commander and Wally smoothness map made a huge difference in my '03 as far as throttle smoothness and response. I've never been impressed with the '14's...

    Ivan's ECU Flash

For those that were curious; Ivan, a well known ECU guru, now re-flashes FJR ECU's. https://www.ivansperformanceproducts.com/fjr1300.htm I read through it , and he can remove the cruise control limit.

    Troubleshooting Bad Starter (?)

Like putting socks on a rooster. Actually wasn't as bad as the older bikes I have had. Of course the rubber is still pretty pliable. Still haven't cracked the old starter; If Ray rebuilds them, I will gladly send it to him.

    Troubleshooting Bad Starter (?)

I finally got there. I had it narrowed down to a bad starter, ground cable, or ground connection when Ionbeam PM'd me and pointed out a bad connection wouldn't let it pull such high amperage. (Thanks Allen!) So, starter it is. On a 2014 with 16,200 miles. I ordered a new starter from Partzilla...

    Troubleshooting Bad Starter (?)

Yes, I am drawing 150-200A, according to clamp-on meter. I am fairly sure starter is bad, but wanted to do voltage drop test on pos and neg leads first. Also, I did locate pos connection to starter, and measured a drop of between .4-1V. If I can find the end of the neg cable and it reads OK...

    Troubleshooting Bad Starter (?)

I rode from work to the store, and after leaving the store, it turned over very slowly, and wouldn't start. After a couple of tries it cranked enough to start and got me home. First thing I thought was loose battery cable. They seemed fine, and when I tried, starter turned a little faster and...

    Quiet Forum These Days?

For crying out loud, didn't you read the part about Beer breath? Of course ODOT slipped him some tongue.

    It's a good day

That's fantastic Ray! I hope she is back to kicking your butt in no time. An aneurysm is what took my wife in 2001. I'm so glad they were able to take care of Patty.

    Quiet Forum These Days?

Why would he need that? He's already got a colon on both ends. Love ya Bust! I'll never forget the concern and help with breakfast that you and your (long suffering) wife showed to a guy I know with a broken collarbone at the Reuben Run.

    Witnessing The Dream

Good report Pants! I grew up in Memphis with no A.C. I remember playing kickball on blacktop in Elementary School, about to pass out from 98 degrees and 90% humidity, and saying to myself, "I'm going to move away from here when I grow up." So I did.

    Eclipse 2017

I packed up the camping gear and randomly headed north. I ended up camping in a grassy field by the John Day River in Spray Oregon. The sixth generation landowner was appalled at the price gouging, and charged a nominal fee to pay for the Porta- Pots. He said he loved the town of Spray and...
