Summer - Yahama tall Fall - VStream Winter - Rifle +5 +3 Spring - Cal Sci Tall Have I missed anything ? Oh yeah, maybe I need to get a Cee Bailey so I can have one of everything... I might just keep the VStream & sell the Rifle & CalSci because I don't think I really need 4 screens...

    ATGATT - Hidden Helmet Damage

Thanks for the article & pix. I would've had an inclination to re-use if there was no visible damage, but not anymore !

    600 mile coming up...

Valves need no service for 24-26k miles. Oil... well that's a real popular subject, many opinions, I use Shell 10-40 synthetic, good & cheap too. For other items see the Bin 'O Facts & the other FAQ info, in the FAQ folders...

best rack for a givi on 2005 blue model

I did a C46, did the Givi factory mount accessory also. I had it powdercoated black, with the matching blue trim for my '05, looks pretty good. Givi is a tube frame, which is kinda nice for me because it gives me extra bungee mounting points for the camping gear & whatever else I feel like...

Heat Pouring out of Left Side of Engine

IIRC, the Gen II has an adjustable vent in the fairing (I just remember someone mentioning this, I don't actually know because I have a Gen I), maybe the vent was not in the correct position ?

    FJR Comfort.

6'3" ex Royal Star owner - love the FJR, never go back to a cruiser... Be prepared to not like the seat for long rides... You'll be windshield shopping too because you'll get turbulence when up (but super quiet when down...). I still love mine after 2 years & 25k miles. Good luck!

    Russel Day Long

They use the original so you're out a seat for as long as it takes them to get the job done. I had mine done in December... I did leather, half moon. WC likes the corrugated finish, I prefer smooth so's I can slide buns when cornering. Happy with leather, way happy with the Russell. I did 2...

    Next Thursday.....

Congrats ! Your list looks pretty complete, putting on a few thou will tell you if seat work is required. It'll be nice riding a paid for bike, won't it ! Enjoy !!

New to the FJR so for my first ride I'm planning a little 3000 mile jaunt.

Welcome & best of luck on the ride. You gonna do slab (70/80) or secondary roads or a mixture ? Just curious. By the time you get home, you should know if you like the seat (LOL). You could always find an AirHawk on the way I guess. Watch out for critters if you ride at night !

    FJR Focus Group

/Rant start Since they didn't ask me why I didn't buy one Initial purchase price $$$$$$ Cost of dealer maintenance $$$$$ An ever shrinking number of dealers Crappy dealer attitude (witnessed multiple locations) Won't stand behind a faulty product, leave customer to pay the bills (read...

Damn, is that thing on fire?

Great color ! Wish Yamaha had enough balls to sell something like that. It looks like a ticket attractor color though. Ah, geez, I still like it !

    8000 mile service at dealer

My local dealer charged me about that, but it was for the 26k mile valve service, tire change, TB recall, wishbone shaft lube, rear oil change, oil change, plug change, adjust throttle, adjust brakes, & lots more that I can't recall right now. I had a long list for him. Seems your dealer has...
