    Close Encounters with the Ground

You have to pay to ride??? That is definetely un-American! Come on down! I'll let you rip and tear around all day for nothing. As long as ya shoot more crash videos.

I had an odd smell concern me once until I remembered I had added Stabil to the tank.

    Cruising RPMs?

What a machine! How many bikes come to life in high gear @ 75 mph? And still have over half the rpm range left.

The Black and White TV! How did we survive?

We could walk down the road and get safely picked up by the first car to come along. Today you might either get run over by an ***** texting or get creamed by a drunk throwing beer bottles for laughs. We could ride our bicycles miles away. No problem unless you were late getting home. Build a...

The 2015/2016 Big FJR Tire Poll

Uncle Hud, I was wondering how these tires are doing. Georgia has a longer season. I figured the miles might be piling on.

    Any rumor on the 2016...?

My FJR is my all time favorite bike. So much I have considered a new one. Then I saw the FJ-09. Hmmm...... This depends on what color the new FJR is. Yamaha will get a sale either way. The sooner the better. New FJR would be nice. But if I buy an FJ-09, I will have increased the herd.

    Ain't superstitious

As a young teenager heading home on the Kawasaki 100, (as fast as it could go of course) I shot by a cow in the fog. Right in the road. I slowed down real quick. I had no license and should not have been on the road. Same applied to the cow.

2007 sitting in my garage - need advice

I have to admit, the rocking the rear tire with the transmission in 5th is a helluva good idea.

    I'm torn between

Little testy aren't ya? Buyer does not have to buy. Seller don't have to meet buyers terms. Both have a choice.

2007 sitting in my garage - need advice

Assuming it is not "stuck" do to no oil on the rings, remove spark plugs and squirt a little oil in the cylinders. If it turns and stops, chances are good that you have too much oil in there. If so, remove plugs and crank her over to blow out excessive oil. Prepare to have a smokey exhaust if...

Of V-Twins, open pipes and tire smoke

Ha ha! Reminds me of following a H-D on State road 44. I caught up to him without really trying. Every straight stretch we came to he full throttled it. So I gave a little twist to keep up. Every set of corners I was letting off a lot. Then he would hammer the straight again. I was holding back...

Of V-Twins, open pipes and tire smoke

Wonder how long it would take to piss off a HD club meeting with straight-piped FJR?

Of V-Twins, open pipes and tire smoke

Seems to me that leaving the bar and throttling up until the stoplight 1/2 block away would be a waste of fuel.

Un- plugged Trickle Charger killed my battery !

All of this is educational. I'm going with ionbeam on this one. Effective. Simple.

What's the Weather like where YOU are today?

Dreary and cold this morning. 42 degrees. Rode to work anyway. The sun came out! Yeeha! High of 55 later.

    FZ-09 is tempting me

The FJ-09 has been tempting me also. Mainly as a commuter/ short ride bike. I will keep the FJR for long hauls or rides with the wife. The FJ-09 would make a great stablemate for the big girl. Yamaha does have a way with engines.......

What's the Weather like where YOU are today?

Below my cut-off of 40* this morning so I took the truck. Then the sun came out and warmed it up some. First corner I came to I started to lean into it. LOL Might have to move south so my riding season is longer.

    FJR Trike!

Each to his own I guess, but I would not have a butchered FJR up my *** if there was room for a dealership. I admire the engineering involved but mine is staying the way it is.

    New riders and road hazards

I truly believe those of us that have ridden for years are much more vigilant about objects ahead in the road. The object of this hopefully will be to enlighten a newer rider to things they have not worried about before. Gravel on the inside of a corner can put you down. In farming operations...
