Why I LOVE my FJR... and farkles...

Ditto, again! I managed to triple my mileage by moving to the FJR for commute (diesel dually had been my commute vehicle). And, this site has had everything I've wanted to know (and some things I didn't...like worried about "ticking") about the bike.

    IBA Saddlesore Ride Being Planned

$58 for a quart of freakin' oil!?!?!

If it were Friday, I'd ask why in the world you were looking for A-rab oil with a Japanese name on it. Since it's not Friday, I'll just wonder what this means: meets thecritical demands "the critical" or "theoretical" or "heretical"?

    nightmare continues

Along the lines of the pinched fuel line...you should be able to smell un-combusted fuel coming out of the muffler (I suggest getting a helper to inhale the deadly fumes though). If the fuel smell is very strong, it can indicate flooding, but the WOT should fix that, I believe.

    Cleaning the Caliper pistons?

As for left side wear more significant than the right side...Good On You for using the rear brake! Remember, the "linked" brakes we have, is that one of the 4 front calipers compresses when the rear brake pedal is pushed. I thought I was the only one who ever used the rear brake :)

    wrecked my bike

I too am glad everyone's basically ok. Also, glad to hear that my insurance company (USAA) isn't a bear to work with. I hope you can add pictures of your new hitch assembly when you get it setup...I'm interested in seeing what you end up with. I also don't want to preach too much about gear...

Two Brothers M-5 and M-2 Post Pic's of mounted on bike

Take a look at Clearwater Lights as well. I love mine; they mount on the caliper. Sorry, hijack over?

    Here's mine, lets see yours.

You just showed me mine...I grew up in Minnetonka, on the western edge of the Twin Cities. Thanks for the pics, brings back lots of memories.

    Remove a label

I hate to ask the obvious, since it's not Friday...but what does the label say about cleaning the windshield?

    HID Auxiliary Lighting Configuration

Before I got the Clearwater Lights, I was looking for a dual-light setup, similar to what you have, and had decided I would do a spot on the left side and flood on the right. Nice to see someone thinking the same way! However, I decided on the Clearwater Glenda's instead...love the low power...

    Tan Bag/Bra suggestions

I went with a tank skin from Second Look. I really like it, and recommend their stuff. https://second-look.com/store/FJR1300_2003_2007.html Mike

    MotoPort Group Buy

I got my Ultra II mesh jacket a little over a year ago, and got my Ultra II Air Mesh pants a little over a month ago. Maybe you should see if Wayne will give you credit for my purchase (towards the 20), even though I don't want any money back. My name is Mike Peck, the shipping address is...

    Almost died

Sorry to hear about your decision, but glad you made it before it was made for you.

SOMEBODY I KNOW PAINTED THEIR FJR

There has been a lot of discussion about which color is fastest...I'm, of course, partial to black. However, will anybody (other than the owner) claim this bike is among the faster ones? I mean, shiny makes light bounce off, so it should push it along, but sheesh!

Hey hey! Some good news! That's great!

    Average age of FJR owners

44, but sometimes my kids make me feel much older. The FJR compensates for that, though.

    Spot tracker

I was just talking about this kind of situation with my wife. Since I almost only ride the bike to commute 20 miles each way to work, and through the Bay Area, I certainly don't need it here. However, I recently rode up to Couer D'Alene, Idaho, and it would have been a good idea then. Does...

    URGENT FJR opinion needed!!!

I love my '08. And, the gen2's are faster. Well, if you get the black ones anyway. The black rims don't really help much though. :)

    Seriously Injured fellow FJR'er

I wear a Symax II every day. I'm looking forward to reading what Dennis has to say about the incident...hopefully he will remember if he took the helmet off or not. Get well SOON!
