    Saddle Sore 1000

Now that some time has passed, I'd say that yeah, I might just do a super long distance ride again... if there was a good reason to. The Saddle Sore that I did was part of a cross country ride, from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles, and by knocking 1000 miles out in one day, it gave me more of an...

    Saddle Sore 1000

It's finally official! I am a member of the Iron Butt Association!! Dear Frenchy: You are receiving this e-mail because of your application for a ride certification. This note is to let you know that your ride has been approved and although your ride documents may take a few more weeks to...

    Off to Iraq

This morning at 4 AM, I finally finished writing my blog about the WWE's recent trip to Iraq. I hoped to be back on Eastern Standard time by now, yet I'm still stuck in limbo of Military Daylight Wasting time. Anyway, the blog is guaranteed to make you laugh, cry, and possibly want another...

    Off to Iraq

We made it back from Iraq safe and sound yesterday. I'd say we got about ten hours of sleep in the three days we were there, which isn't too bad, actually. I plan to make up the sleep differential today, and so far am doing quite well. Here's a few pictures from our little corporate retreat...

    Off to Iraq

Hello all, Tonight, some time after RAW concludes, I, along with a planeload of WWE wrestlers and TV gear, am leaving for Baghdad. This year marks the sixth time the WWE has packed up a wrestling ring and taken our show overseas to entertain our fine men and women in uniform. It's hard to...

    06 Right Saddlebag Lid

Looking for a blue right side saddlebag lid. Thanks

    WTB - 06 Blue Fairings

I parked my FJR on what seemed to be a flat shoulder, but it was slightly inclined, just slightly enough for it to fall over once I got off it. I tried to pick it up, but the incline was enough that I wouldn't be able to pick it up by myself without it falling right back over like it did the...

    WTB - 06 Blue Fairings

Had a little unfortunate accident in Wyoming, and now the right side of my FJR is scratched up pretty badly. The right side of the front fairing and the right bag got the worst of it, but the lower right fairing has some nice gouges in it as well. PM me with any ideas where to get new...

    Saddle Sore 1000

Just finished a 1000-in-1 ride, from Elkhart, IN to Rapid City, SD. My ride report of this long, grueling ride can be found here.

    The Great Nova Scotia Expedition

The last installment of the Great Nova Scotia Expedition was posted on my blog today. Thanks to all that took the time to check it out! Next on the agenda is a return ride to Tennessee in August, then Rain Cloud Follows and I will be migrating back west to California for the winter, most...

    The Great Nova Scotia Expedition

Mine was a short ten day trip as well... but we packed a lot into it! I'll be looking forward to seeing some pics when you return!

    The Great Nova Scotia Expedition

Thanks for the compliment. Yes. Bring an electric vest, long johns, thermal socks, a head sock, and a car with a good heater! No, seriously, I'd just be ready for it to be chilly. Newfoundland was much colder than Nova Scotia is. I'd imagine it's better now than it was when we went up there...

    Annoying Electrical Issue

Thanks for this! I checked the battery terminals, and that connection is tight. How would I go about checking the connection at the starter?

    The Great Nova Scotia Expedition

Thanks for the compliments! I'll probably post something every day on the blog until the story is done. It was a great but cold trip. Heading to Tennessee next, then probably California, to make a re-run at Baja sometime this fall.

    Annoying Electrical Issue

Thanks, Ron. The PIAA lights are 55W driving lights. I use a Garmin GPSMap 60Cx, which runs on 2 AA batteries, so I can't imagine it draws very much.

    The Great Nova Scotia Expedition

The roads weren't great, seemed like a lot of frost heaves and such did a number on them over the winter. That said, Route One and the Twillingate cutoff were all handled fine by my FJR - stock suspension and two up, loaded down with tons of gear. The roads were bumpy, and torn up in places...

    Annoying Electrical Issue

Well, I'm glad to hear it's not just me... I guess. I did find that the nut that grounds the Powerlet outlet to the chassis was loose, but I don't think that would cause this kind of a problem. I'm no electrical engineer, but here's what I'm thinking: a) the constant drain of the 55W driving...
