I have never used my side stand. Always use my center stand on level ground. Its hard for me to justify using that little metal toothpick to hold up my ride.

To answer that question from what I have READ it sounds like the Gen 2 issues sound SCARIERRRRR. To have your bike engine just quite, not good. I will not say that I have had 0 issues with my 05 "even though that is true" because if I do I will.

Man; I thought the FJR was a sport touring bike not a station wagon. You would think it would be cheaper just to UPS all that stuff to were you are going and the bike would be more fun to ride!!

Ditto on the poorer handling if I let my tires go down just a little to 36 or so. I run 42 in the rear and 40 up front with Avon Storms. Very neutral steering with those tire pressures. Because the FJR is very sensitive to tire pressures I would also recommend having a very good tire gauge.

My manual says to replace the coolant every 2 years or 16,000 miles. I have read several journals every three years. Is the coolant going to degrade by time or mileage or both. Do I really need to do it every two years?!

Burnt Scrotum New Mexico I know were that is. Al Bundy drove his Dodge through there. I don't use a Battery Tender on my ride but it gets fired up and at least ridden once a week. After three years of use, I become concerned about battery life. Maybe I will wait three and one half years this time.

I have always used a general rule of thumb to replace the battery every three years. I have seen batteries work strong one day,dead the next. What is the best battery available for the FJR??
