2015 OEM tail light wire size ?

On my 07, the tail lights were 18 AWG, approx 1.02 mm. It's not in the manual, you'll just have to trust a Electrical Fitter Mechanic ......... ME lol lol Good for about16 amps, BUT I wouldn't add the the bikes wiring, it's pushed to the limit. Use the bike's wiring only for relay...

    OEM Brakes

I use Metal Gear, made right here in Brisbane Queensland. Very easy on the rotors but do not last as long as the OEM's Good stopping and the sintered metal rear pads also work quite well, better than stock !

    Coolant Puke

It will be the radiator cap. If you know how the coolant system works, hot coolant flows into the expansion tank. As it cools the vacuum draws the coolant back into the system. With crook rad cap, it fails to refill the system. Gradually the coolant empties itself out. Have to remove the...

    Spider Bite Repellent or Cure

Yamaha's recall bypass harness is a joke, so are some of the mechanics that install it. It doesn't address the failures of the S6, S7 and S8 connectors, which are still fairly common. Brodie doesn't make his harness any more, by the sounds of it he should. It was quality ! His harness...

FJR AS starter or battery ?

There is some good comments on this thread. Heed the advice I have known some well known maintainers that have destroyed batteries. Hook them up and charge the batteries then fully disconnect them, do not leave them connected at all. I do not know the quirks of that particular brand. Charge...

Well done, good news ! It's a bugger to take the cowling off, I ask one of my mates to do it if there is a need, lol lol,

Help? 2006 - just installed Power commander v - running like CRAP!

And then check the map, download the map into the laptop and check it or just reinstall it from the laptop. If no good, maybe the PC5 is buggered, as mentioned by RossKean in a post above, hope not. Load up a zero map, all zero's, and see what happens, the PC5 shouldn’t effect the bikes...

Help? 2006 - just installed Power commander v - running like CRAP!

If you have a crook pin or a poor swiping contact on that pin it can make things worse. Transducer circuits of 5 volts do not like it. No where on instructions does it say to use silicon grease on the connectors. And it would have a 5 volt +ve the ECU throttle output & maybe the injectors...

Help? 2006 - just installed Power commander v - running like CRAP!

Any error codes, diagnostics via the dash ? Any yellow engine light warnings ? Could have disconnected the wrong wire for the co sensor plug, been there done that. You did hook up that neutral wire from the PC5 to the negative of the battery terminal and not the frame as per instructions...

    (Possibly) MC Related Vascular Condition

I'm on Marevan, if I over dose or the hospital stuffed up my dosage, like they did a week ago, or have an accident, the hospital can give me Vitamin K. That vitamin and hole fresh frozen platlets can quickly bring my thinness back to a normal level I had a INR of >8, that meant I could...

Try and keep the many neutral paths intact, the bypass is only a bypass, you would have to work out the possible neutral current loading and work out the appropriate AWG size as used in automotive wiring. The larger the diameter, the higher current it should draw off the the original single path...

My '07 feejer stopped running after dropping it off ctr stand for ride

Good one, Hopefully on the bike in no time. I don't know if I mention to check to see if the bypass wire was hooked up correctly. ??? I normally do on this topic. Has been some cases of not hooking up the -Ve side of the bridge, and then marked off as a completed job. The dealer who did the...

    Protecting the Mirrors

The very first thing I did the my new Gen 3 when I got home that afternoon was to adjust he mirror fold up tension. It was done up that TIGHT, it couldn't fold up. That bolt under the mirror to allow it to fold on those conical washers, if you drop the bike. Loosen it up enough so it doesn't...

    (Possibly) MC Related Vascular Condition

Not a problem, been meaning to get some sort of medi alert or something like that just in case. 2nd DVT right leg so I'm on rat poison for rest of life, Crohns related. Take all my drugs and PT tester on tour and monitor my own bloods, occasionally telling Doc what I'm up to. Last admission...

    (Possibly) MC Related Vascular Condition

Had the operations about 4 years ago but the disease is insidious. I haven't ridden a bike since November last year, 11 admissions since then, the last one was a few weeks ago. All Crohn's related, nearly all electrolyte related, and yes it will kill you. Nearly ended up on the stainless...

    Calling adventure bike owners

Think outside the marketing. My Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX is better, in my opinion, than the 3 mentioned, I have ridden them all, mind you it was an older BMW1200 ADV bike. They are a bit agricultural, rusty, no cBus a big ++++, great usable torque ..... better than the others, great highway or...

Do I Have a Spider Problem?

It is. You solder a 2.5mm pig tail to each of the six 12 volt bridging pieces. Punch a hole through the black plastic cap. Treat the spiders & reinstall. Run a 4mm trunk wire to all six 12 volt spiders and solder splice the pig tails and run back to the battery -ve. I'll take pics if I ever...

Do I Have a Spider Problem?

I did a theoretical calculation of the final current flowing through pin3 of the S4 spider,it was something like 56 amps through 16 gauge AWG, that's only 1.3mm CSA For automotive wiring, the Current capacity of 16 AWG s around 22 amps, the only saving grace is that you not have everything on...
