    Replacement Heated Grips

The heated grips are wired in series on the FJR, not in parallel as in the Oxford grips, sorry about that.

    Brake Bleed sequence on 2014

Another of Yamaha's short falls. It's a common procedure with other ABS bikes. Even a special function on the Triumph test tool & they say a once a year, but do what you like. Motor Guzzi have some strange English translation I'm trying to understand, but I get the gist of what they mean, a...

Yamaha Diagnostic Tool (kit) - GenIII

Of course Yamaha would have their own OEM codes, Top Secret, I was expecting it even posted on a thread earlier this year. Like BMW and that South African developed 911 tool, that court case etc etc. Hopefully some smart person can crack the codes & develop a PC program. I managed to crack...

    Brake Bleed sequence on 2014

All my accessory wiring is double insulated, so not a problem Do you use double insulated wires ??? Brakes would still work anyhow if it did.

What did you do to your FJR today?

Started most of my bikes today, first press of the starter buttons. Maybe the 3rd time in 11 months, I can walk to the garage now and without a walking stick. Have a buyer for my 08 project bike, yahoo. Selling it at cost price to me, no profit at all. The guy is getting a real nice FJR. I...

    Clutch not working after soak

So all AOK ? Nice one, such a simple job that makes a huge difference. No use soaking as the fibre does not soak in oil. A good clean of the plates and oil everything up as you reassemble is OK. Cheers

    Clutch not working after soak

When you engage the clutch, the slave cylinder pushes a long rod, with 1 ball bearing at it's end, onto the pressure plate and PUSHES the plate OUT. Very easy to loose that ball bearing. Make sure you do the bolts up in sequence bit by bit & that spring plate aligns up properly when you do &...

    Brake Bleed sequence on 2014

Easy to do on my Stelvio NTX, it has a switch. I almost never do switch it off tho. Back to topic, it was easier with speed bleeders, you may need to engage a test a few times to pump all the metering block clean. Do the normal procedure, front, linked then the rear brakes, all the circuits...

    Brake Bleed sequence on 2014

In Chapter 1 of the FSM, there is a description of the various systems. That way there is no mis-information on the Forum. Some years publications are better than other years in their content , but all have it, For example, the description of the ABS system is far better in my 06 service...

    Brake Bleed sequence on 2014

Just hook up a toggle switch, a standard non/off, place or mount it where you want it, either solder the wires on or use its connectors. Run the wires to the RHS dash panel and gain access to the ABS test coupler lead. Splice into both the Black/White and Sky Blue wires, these are what to...

    Brake Bleed sequence on 2014

It's actually part of the service procedure with the Trophy along with the Dealer Tool, a 3rd party test tool instead of being reamed by Triumph. I've been doing it on FJR's ever since I've had the Yamaha test jumper lead. It would be so easy just to wire in a switch, say under the seat, to...

    Brake Bleed sequence on 2014

Two of my brand new bikes had bad air bubbles. The Stelvio also had a milky white contamination in the fluid. The Trophy a heap of bubbles. Sure enough the 2014 ES had a pale milky stuff' air and chunky bits in the system, all documented. Interesting to note, the Trophy has the same brakes as...

What did you do to your FJR today?

Bought a second hitech battery charger come trickle charger. 2 batteries 5 bikes, time to swap the chargers around. Have a buyer for my 08 project bike, so it's time for spit & polish and to check it out. Was perfect 10 months ago, been started and run up to temp many times but brakes will be...

    First Valve Clearance Check

Hi bergman, I've used this XL spread sheet a few times, invaluable tool and greatly appreciated. Link to my Drive to view or download Can use metric or imperial measurements as well. Should be a link on the forum ?

    2014 Stumble on accel.

Was that the wiring loom problem posted on the Trophy Forum site ? sorry on the hijack, I was Qld Ken there with all the problems but I wasn't the only one. Still lurk to have a little chuckle or two. Cheers

    2014 Stumble on accel.

Triumph Australia and the dodgy dealer that sold me my new 2013 Trophy. THE worst bike I have ever bought. 9 faults in 3 months of ownership, thank God I still had my ever trusty 07 Lucky to find a dealer that sold Triumph and Yamaha so I could trade on a new 2014 without loosing too much...

My '07 feejer stopped running after dropping it off ctr stand for ride

I really hope Yamaha do the right thing by you. I get so sick to death of dealers treating customers like that and ripping off owners. It's happened to a few mates of mine over here. I couldn't recommend a dealer in SE Qld to anyone. Just document everything, dates, pics, anything that would...
