Stebel Nautilus + One of the original horns

I installed the Stebel Magnum horns and it was an easy install and IMHO almost as loud as the ones you got. The Magnums just don't require as much room. Original tweeters removed since they're absolutely useless.

    Getting my FJR

Hello there My suggestion would be to ride a 400cc bike for at least 3 months on a daily basis just to get re-acquainted with shifting, breaking, cornering and overall behavior of a bike. Once you feel comfortable handling this bike, go ahead and do a test ride with a 800 cc or 1000 cc bike. If...

    Garauld Luggage Rack

Gary told me that I can take the crossbar off with a careful hacksaw job... How much weight can one put safely on the rear rack without worrying to crack the subframe?

    Garauld Luggage Rack

Thanks Shiny for sharing, that's a good idea. Just looked at my rack from Gary and it has a crossbar (not backrest) on the front side thus preventing the bag to be placed like yours on the bike...

    Garauld Luggage Rack

I have Garauld's large rack and the MotoFizz bag does not quite fit on it. Anybody out there interested in a proportional larger rack so it would accommodate the large MotoFizz bag? The new rack should be about 2.5inches longer with the same shape like the one I have. This...

    Spark plugs

Just changed my Yamaha installed plugs after the first 14000miles, looked like brand new, popped CR8EIX's in, and keeping the ones I removed as spares. Looks like spark plugs last for at least 25000 miles and the Iridiums prolly 50000miles...YMMV Alfred

    FJR and BMW 1300

Just read a report in the latest edition of the German publication "Motorrad" regarding an attempted 50,000km test of the K1300GT. One word: disastrous -->at 5000 km engine wouldn't start -->at 7225 km Engine wouldn't start; had to replace left side hand control unit (electrical...

Rider Missing Lolo Pass to W. Yellowstone.

Sincerely hope they find Donald soon, it's very distressing to read about a rider gone down or missing cause one is so helpless confronted with situations like that. Hopefully a larger search effort is going to be arranged by local and state authorities. Alfred

Same bike here, no problems what else is going on in your life? Looks like the FJR is the perfect scape goat... that's the only conclusion one can draw from your rant. How much do you want for the $*****? :dribble: Alfredo

    Nearly avoided a crash

Just remember to wear pampers next time you come and practice on our Swiss Alpine Passes. It does take a bit of getting used to those extreme switchbacks...and next time gimme a holler so I can join you. I know some pretty darn nice places around here. Glad you're ok though. Alfredo

2009 Iron Butt Rally - Official Daily Reports

Heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. It feels just like someone stuck a needle in my IBR balloon and deflated the whole online fun/frenzy. The question why this happened will linger for a long time. Was hoping to not have to read this devastating news this morning. From what I've...
