    Nowthen Tech Day 4/23

For a valve check, what should I bring? I plan on bringing a few tools....Valve gasket? Shims? Anything else? I presume that I can pick these items up at Moons in Monticello. Bill

    mixing gear oil

Thanks Art, I never thought about who makes Yamaha Gear oil....good points. My initial thought was that it would be fine to mix like oils, but I appreciate the confirmation from you and others. Now I have to review the gear oil I use in the lower unit of my Sea Ray boat. I would like to...

    mixing gear oil

I appreciate the sentiment and reasoning. I ride on good tires but I will take a chance and mix the four ounces of Yamaha gear oil into the 24 ounces of AMS gear oil and will push the envelope and live on the edge!

    mixing gear oil

I changed gear oil and after some research decided to go with AMS synthetic severe gear 75-90. I had been using the Yamaha synthetic gear oil and I have a little of the Yamaha oil left, but not enough to fill the reservoir. Is it OK to empty the remaining Yamaha gear oil into the AMS oil...

My pegs arrived this afternoon and they were installed within an hour. I am slow. I have waited to long for these as I have a 2005. Very pleased!

    Pushed off highway today

Not being seen is a hazard of riding. I installed Magnum Blaster horns for self defense and they do get the attention of those who get close. Glad that you were attentive and were able to find the escape route.

Ride to Logan, Utah from Buffalo, MN

I completed the trip, and boy were you right! 600+ mile days in the heat was tiring and way too much. Although it is beautiful country and a wonderful trip, I passed many interesting stops and I was not able to take in some of the sights or routes that could have made the trip better. I soaked...

Ride to Logan, Utah from Buffalo, MN

I am heading out July 5th and am taking two days to get to Logan. The last time I went there I headed South into Missouri and then into Colorado. I made it back from Logan in one twenty hour day, but I came back via Nebraska on the interstate…..it was hot and tiring. This trip to Logan is...

Ride to Logan, Utah from Buffalo, MN

I am heading from Buffalo MN to Logan Utah and would welcome suggestions for a more scenic route. My plans are to avoid the interstate as much as is reasonable. I am particularly interested in finding a route that would take me through the badlands into Wyoming. Thanks!

Bringing the MN FJR riders email list back to life.

Thanks, for keeping me in the loop. I look forward to getting together with some other FJR riders. What are the details for May 9th.? I have plans in the evening (I play in an orchestra) but am free during the day. Bill

This thing needs a governor!!! Or I do....

Mine has a similar problem. The FJR automatically goes about 20 MPH faster than posted speed. Then if you are not paying attention it will go faster! Bill

    2008 CFO

I am tentatively planning on attending this again. I had a great time last year. It is a bit early for me to nail down all my travel plans right now. Work and family obligations some times can get in the way. This year I am going to look for a little shorter route to get there as the one I...
