clutch plate soak and idle speed drop

Are you referring to the torque of the bolts under the cover, on the clutch basket?

    WTB Mirror Extenders/wideners

Where are you guys buying the FZ1 mirrors from?

    AE jerking me around

Yes it did smooth things out a bit. I also lowered the clutch RPM engagement 2 steps but that made it a bit twitchy when cold so I will raise it back one step higher. Maybe tomorrow.... I love my AE too!

Mesh pants for a hot summer commute? (over 100 degrees)

I live in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. I'm looking for mesh over pants that I can wear over my work clothes (usually boots, slacks + belt, and a dress shirt). I would love some feedback on which pants you guys have had good experience with. Important features for me are: +Zippers all the way up...

    AE jerking me around

Just an update: I bled my AE clutch fluid last season but it didn't have much of an effect. Today I did it again but used the "cycle the ignition key" method and got a section of dirty fluid out between the clean fluid. What a great trick! I wish I had known about that trick last time...

Is there any solution for leg roasting heat on an 08?

+1 Baker air wings. I had them on a previous bike and they make a TREMENDOUS difference.

    AE jerking me around

In addition to your clutch bleed, did you modify the idle RPM or clutch engagement RPM? Or was the clutch bleed the only thing done to fix it?

    Cycle Gear is buying RevZilla...

I have a Cycle Gear 1/4 mile from my house. Many years ago (maybe 15 years?) I bought some really fine stuff from Cycle Gear. Most of it was European gear. In fact I still wear one of the jackets when dirt biking. Things went downhill ever since their Bilt brand started filling the shelves...

Five Rides...Five Engine Quits...2006 Auto Shifter

Yamanick, When it quits: Is it a hard stop, like someone flicked off the ignition switch, or does it "sputter" and die? Do all the lights and other electronics stay on? When trying to restart it during that "5 minute" period: Does the starter turn the engine, or does it not respond to the...

    FJR vs Connie C10

I'll throw in 2 more cents... If I was in your shoes I'd probably seek something a bit smaller/lighter. I think a lot of this decision depends on your health and your fitness and your ability to handle a bike this big. I had a C10 for about 6 years and absolutely loved that bike. I sold it...

    IBA Mile Eater

holy wow. Good for you. I'm a bit jealous of your rides (and how you manage to find the time!). Forgive the question from a relatively new IBA member but when I read posts from mile eaters like yourself I always start questioning what kind of gear you use (or wear) that makes you comfortable...

    Rotella and Mobile-1 rebate

I bought mine locally and they rejected it as well. I had to resubmit it. I loathe rebates. I've never had one that was worth the effort.

    Deltran Battery Tender Lifespan

I have had two Battery Tender Jrs fail. Both of them lasted about two years before failing. I have three more in use today. When the first failed, the light would just flicker when I plugged it into the wall. Tried it on several different batteries. When the second failed, it would not turn...

The Jerkiness of Jerky Motorcyle Throttles

Thx ionbeam. I don't think I articulated this correctly but what I'm truly wondering is if we could get rid of the abrupt throttle response off idle if the throttle cable pulley at the throttle body were 1) larger and 2) had a completely different shape. There's only so much you can do with...

The Jerkiness of Jerky Motorcyle Throttles

This is an interesting thread. I appreciate the constructive feedback. Just a few weeks ago I followed mcatrophy's instructions to re-shape my throttle tub cam. It did make a difference but not enough for my AE. On a bike with a clutch this would be much less of an issue but when my AE is...
