    CCC100 Ride Report

Well done! Nice write-up. Makes me want to do it again. (From the first FJR rider to complete a 100CCC, SDO>JAX>SDO back in 2003)

    Running Multiple GPS Units

I run two gps's all the time, a garmin 2820 and 2730. Both are ram mounted to a shelf that has extra support legs. Both are just below my line of sight as I ride. I run two for redundancy, each can do what the other does except for the bluetooth on the 2820 and for different objectives. I...

    Soltek Mount fix

Yeah, yeah...my bike's had an asphalt nap a time or two and I've had to tweak the left mirror mount into shape just to get the bodywork to lay straight and flat so I expect that mine would probably break if more weight was added for more thousands of miles. Think I'll trade one for a flood and...

    Soltek Mount fix

Which is exactly why I still have a pair of Solteks NIB that have never been installed. :glare: Instead I've repaired the housings on my still functioning Hella FF200 HIDs several times. I have considered a similar reinforcement but have never gotten 'round to it. Nice repair.

    GPS location: Pros & Cons

Excellent point. Mount whatever gps you have near your line of sight so that you do not take your eyes off the road to read it. I use a dash shelf and two ram mounts and run a garmin 2730 and 2820 side by side. Both are close enough to my line of sight that reading them is quick and easy.

    Question for Fuel Cell Owners

I leave my Tanji cell on all the time. Even though it's real easy to remove I rarely carry a passenger so don't bother. dougc

    SPANK 2010

Great read Matt! Brought back a flood of memories from August. I ran into Eric J. the first morning while he was bagging the last LA area bonus (for him) at the creosote bush before leaving for Sequoia. I followed him, albeit a half day later, to the Gen. Sherman, Vichy springs, the redwoods...

    10 n' 10 Rally

I read somewhere that the CP is Sidney, Nebraska. It will be great fun watching the homing pigeons make their turn and wend their various ways to the CP. Can't wait to see bonus listings for this rally. dougc

    FJR Mileage Milestones

Well you can add me then... Turned over 101K+ on the way home from Denver two weeks ago. Not bad considering I took care of my parents the last couple years before they passed and simply could not ride as much. dougc

    Home Safe n' Sound WFO9

Left around 4:30am yesterday and made it home by 10:30am. 101 to 199 to I-5. ABS malfunctioned again after 100 miles or so and is showing an ABS 11 error code again. Thanks to everyone for their support and attendance. Really good to see folks and meet new people.

    Tanji/Pelican mounted

The mag light mounts will hold over most anything. My flashlight, although only two cell, has hung on for a 1.5 IBRs and several multi-day rallies and well over 60000 miles. I use a velcro strap anyway as over time they may fatigue and crack or break off. That happened with my original...

    Recovery after knee surgery

I had arthroscopic surgery Feb '09 to trim a torn meniscus on the same knee that had torn ACL and MCL in years past. Doc said I'd need a new knee in 5 - 10 years and also said I'd not play singles tennis again. Hurt like hell for a week but improved after that. Rode the first time a month...

According to Roger's spot track he must have made it home around 11:00pm last night. Perhaps he'll post up when he gets a chance.
