Nice story and great choice with the SV650S Bob. I have an 04 SV1000S and it's a fun bike in the twisties and at the track and the V-twin is a nice change from the I-4.
Still, I get a big grin on my face when I get back on the FJR after neglecting her for a while....the best all around bike I...
Great trip! Glacier is a beautiful place and so are the Tetons.
If you were to ever do it again, I would suggest going to Red Lodge, MT instead of Gardiner and entering Yellowstone Park via Beartooth Pass. It's an awesome ride on a bike.
I'm not a hooligan or a squid and didn't tell the sales puke I wanted a bike for track days.
Would you buy a used motorcycle without being able to ride it first? Not me!
I went to a stealer in San Antonio to look at a used VTR1000 to use for track days. It looked really good with low miles. I asked to take it for a test drive and the sales puke says "not sportbikes". I just shook my head and walked out the door.
Hey Big Sky,
You're bringing back great memories for me! I was born and raised in Billings and spent many summers riding what I still consider one of the best rides on a bike - from Red Lodge to Silver Gate and back. I haven't ridden it for several years and truly miss it. There is decent...
I was thinking about trying Wally's on my '06A but my bike runs so good with the m419-001 map for stock exhaust, stock air filter, O2 sensor disconnected...I thought, why bother? I will try it one day when I don't have anything else to do.
Thanks TWN. I'm checking out what Canon has to offer. I really like the videos that you and jdog are doing. I will definitely get a bullet cam ... that video you made on 36 with the bullet on your slider is awesome!
I am thinking about getting a camcorder so I can take some videos out on the twisties. These new hard drive camcorders like the Sony DCR-SR100 look promising but I question whether they would work well under bumpy road conditions. Anyone tried one of these out on the road?
I had to laugh at this...
"Personally I don't like ABS on a motorcycle, so the fact that the FJR doesn't come with it is a bonus to me," said one unnamed tester who we'll tease for months.
I know there have been several great reviews on the Rifle winshields but I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. The fit and finish of the windshield are great just as others have stated. I got the +3" tall, +4" wide in the medium bronze tint. It looks good on the bike but, as others have mentioned...
Hey Last Chance,
Great review!!! The PCIII is the best farkle I've put on my 06A. I've put about 500 miles on it now and I couldn't be happier. I haven't checked the mileage difference and really could care less. If I'm getting worse mileage...BFD!!!
