    Leaky fork seal

I carry my sealmate on trips in case a leak pops up. I rebuilt my forks with new seals and bushings, approximately 1000 miles later a leak started after going down a dirt road in Idaho. Used the sealmate and the leak magically disappeared and now 10K miles later still rock solid. It only take a...

    # 4 cylinder

I have heard bad injectors can damage cylinders and rings by wall washing the cylinders with fuel. If too rich the excess fuel doesn't allow the oil to lubricate the rings/cylinder wall/piston skirt. Edit: This was a high performance mustang and injectors were too big, not bad. So it may not...

    # 4 cylinder

Good luck and keep us posted, Compression tests are easy if you have a kit. The test fitting and line threads into spark plug hole one at a time. Remove remaining spark plug leads so bike doesn't fire while thumbing starter switch. Run starter till compression gauge tops out. You should see...

    Dirty Throttlebody Butterflies

assuming crank case ventilation is the cause, would running the crank case vent line to a stand-alone air filter bypassing the airbox be a good idea?

New Mv Handlebar Risers with angle adjustment!

The riser kit looks nice and effective but my GPS tech mount wouldn't work with it.

    My Rick Mayer Experience

I did the ride in appointment and regret getting the basket weave vinyl covering. The vinyl made the seat hard and uncomfortable for me. I'm betting if I had went with leather it would feel better.

    Won't be the same.

I'm stunned to see one of the best riders ever bow out with such future promise. I understand his feelings because being a father changes your priorities in life.

    crash

I have a used headlight lens assembly that is crazed and cracked but very functional. PM me if interested. You can have it for price of shipping.

    Road Glide or Road King?

I owned a Street Glide, you'll enjoy that bike. My Glide didn't come with cruise control in '06 so not sure if that is standard equipment now. The floor boards drag pretty early on the street glide since it is lowered. If you want more cornering clearance the Road King will have the advantage there.

    Have I Neglected the FJR?

I enjoy my cruiser and my FJR. What cracks me up is when people ask why I wear a full face helmet on my cruiser. I tell them I like my current face configuration. People are so paranoid about image it's pathetic.

    Road Glide or Road King?

I would pick the Road Glide. I've ridden both and the Road Glide is better suited for touring IMO. You'll enjoy the factory cruise control and stereo system.

First Day the Road's Opened in Yellowstone

Very nice! That's the way to see Yellowstone, no traffic and the Bears are out.

    buying high mileage FJR

I would be hesitant to buy it since whomever traded it in figured it was going to cost him more than it's worth to keep. If the bike is paid for and running well why get rid of it? At minimum it would be a good commuter unless the previous owner had a feeling it was on its last leg. Just...

    Decisions Decisions

VStrom is a great bike but you won't miss messing with that chain. I've ridden an ST1300, great bike with a minivan-esque instrument panel. If you want something sportier definitely hold out for an FJR deal.

If the Tulsa craiglist ad is legit you'd better jump on that deal quick because it won't last.

    bar risers

Removing the pins is a common modification. Mine has been that way four years with no pivoting after torqued back to spec.

New 2010 oil level too high

When my bike sits for an extended period of time (week or more) the oil glass fills to the top. day to day it stays at the top dot. You would have been fine IMO without draining it.
