Timely post, it made me laugh to see this on here since I was just checking this receiver out yesterday at the shack. I was thinking about using it through my Scala Q2 headset FM radio function. Anyone using this? XM receiver

I would install the newer CCT, why not? if you've already bought it the peace of mind will be worth it. Clearly you ride a ton so get it done while it's already torn down for the valve check.

I'm really in the market to upgrade from my Scala unit. My only complaint with the Scala is that the speakers just don't put out enough volume. Is this a problem with the Sena?

I landed the trunk for $100, very lucky. I'll check around but my best sources for the mount are over $100.Hopefully I'll find someone who has the mount and doesn't need it anymore.

Man, sucks to miss out on a deal like that! I feel pretty lucky this week since I picked up a pristine condition/hardly used factory touring trunk for $100 complete with pillion pad by doing some snooping in the local classifieds. :yahoo:

When I dismatled my forks and had to get that stubborn fork seal out I cut an approximate 8" section of old PR2 front tire up to act as soft jaws for my bench vise. Snugged up the lower slider in the safety of the old tire and used the chrome slider as slide hammer till it pulled the seal out...

I scored a used Yamaha touring trunk and just need the mount for a GEN II.

My left fork seal went at 24k. I attribute this to about six wheelies I've pulled on it. Don't plan on doing anymore and I trailered the bike on two occassions for about a total of 6 days and 3000 miles. (I know, it's not a Harley. It was for moving my family across the country). I am not sure...

Given you have a 2006, not sure of your mileage, but I doubt it would be covered. There is some serious labor/material costs to rebuild the forks so I would be very surprised if your dealer didn't file it under normal wear and tear.

When I have to replace my brake pads I plan on going with OEM. I've heard some of the aftermarkets will eat rotors. OEM are pricey but they last a long time. 25K on my bike and still have alot of material left

Good on you for admitting your fault and not bitching about it. I've answered my phone while driving and feel like such a hypocrite while doing it. Talking on the phone is bad, but texting and driving is F'n stupid.

He is an amazing rider. I was fortunate to see him ride in person at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah last year.

Sucks to hear it happened to you. This is further evidence that it doesn't matter what kind of mileage or how many years have passed. I'm glad I've installed my Brodie harness for the added peace of mind. The Harley comment did sting!
