You do have to be quick.

I picked up my 2003 in 2006 with only 3400 miles on it for 5 grand.

Saw the ad on ebay (I was searching) and was on it like white on rice.

Gay said it wasn't up for more then 30 min. when I called him. - SOLD!!!

Man, sucks to miss out on a deal like that!

I feel pretty lucky this week since I picked up a pristine condition/hardly used factory touring trunk for $100 complete with pillion pad by doing some snooping in the local classifieds. :yahoo:

Every day I ride to work in the AM I'm still thankful I got my '04 in Sept of '05 for $8500. I STILL, to this day, feel like I got the buy of the century, even after replacing the motor 4 years later.

I'm with ya, Howie: I got my '03 in Feb. '03 with 1,300 miles on the clock for $9,000 cash. MSRP at the time was $11,495, I think. Eight years and 72,000 miles under my belt and looking forward to more (if this damned snow ever stops - four more inches yesterday). I'll probably own it/ride it until it (or I) won't run anymore.

I too got a great deal but jumped on it quickly. Last summer came across a Craig list ad for a local 2009 with 4800 miles and extended warranty until April 2013. Had frame sliders, tank protector and handlebar extention. The bike was immaculate and I got it for $8500. The seller told me the phone was ringing off the wall after I bought it. I still have a big smile on my face and love the bike.

I saw this a few days ago, but was still debating the whole C14/FJR thing. Obviously, by the time I decided to call on it, it was long gone. I do wonder why he hasn't removed the ad though.....

That is a fantastic deal. I would have been all over that!

Almost 2 years ago to date, I was searching CL and came across my deal. A Toyota dealership got a "05

FJR with throttle lock and yamaha top case w/backrest on a trade. The bike was posted for $4,875. I called

on it 30 minutes after posting and made arrangements to go across state and check it out the coming weekend.

(It was Tuesday IIRC) Going in to work the next morning, I changed my mind and did not even clock in- I went

over to Naples, FL and bought the bike hours later. For the last 2 years I have been wondering what is wrong with

the bike for that price. 50,000 miles later.... still wondering! She has taken me to 49 states, and promises me that

she will last another 50,000 miles. :yahoo:

SO..... +1 here!!!

I forgot to say- the bike had a whole 8k on it.

I paid too much for my first 2004 FJR...

...but I have not for a minute ever regretted buying this sweet bike. The miles and smiles just keep getting racked up... :clapping:

Me too Wheaton. I got my 04 for a good price, but when I bought my 08, I wanted to buy from my local dealer that had been good to me over the years. They knocked a thousand off their asking price and I'm still glad I bought from them. They did sell me a manual and some accesories for cost to make me feel better. They had a brand new 2010 AE on the floor the other day and the manager said he'd take around $10,000 for it. That's a good deal if your looking for an AE.

No such beast. '09 was the last year of production of the 'AE' model.

So is it an '09 AE? Or a '10 'A' model? Either way still a great price.
