    (Split) Used Oil

I change mine once a year. Even easier to remember.

    So long

I think you're reading way too much into my post. It was never intended to be derogatory. I was trying to indicate that in times of conflict it is sometimes better to just walk away. I'm trying hard not to take sides or pass judgement. Sometimes that's difficult when it involves people...

    So long

Occasionally a forum's continued existence becomes dependent on the clueless remaining....clueless. In this case, a few wolves have moved on and the sheepdogs are resting quietly. This thread has received more attention than it deserved.

And FWIW, this isn't a "peep" problem.

Butthurt? You really are clueless. Blaming the victim here totally misses the mark.

    Okay, so I'm an *****!

Would lengthening the fuel line help? Could you then swivel it enough to clear the fitting?

    Valve Stem Cores

Many valve cores have a tendency to leak. A good cap, preferably metal, will keep it from becoming a problem.

    Buzziness Reduced After U-Joint Service

" maybe it had more to do with putting the U-joint back on the shafts in a different orientation." This was my first thought. Maybe you lucked out and hit a balance "sweet spot".

New 2017 FJR Announced, Raven it is!

Worst possible color. Fortunately I'm not looking to replace mine.

    Radiator Cap Orientation

A "friend" that asks such a question probably shouldn't be removing radiator caps in the first place. JS

2016 Fall Foliage Ride October 15-17

"Too bad we couldn't get more people to join. It'll be fun regardless, though. Looking forward to this." Sorry I won't be able to join you. I've already committed to Bridge Day for that weekend. Maybe our paths will cross. I see you're staying till Monday. Maybe I'll come spend Sunday...

Is an oil cooler a bonus, a premium adder?

Too bad the same engineers weren't in charge of valve train maintenance.

Making a Gen II faster (swap middle drive from Gen I ?)

Installing a smaller diameter 190-50 rear tire might give you the results you're looking for. I went the other way, going for a 199-55, trying to raise the rear end a bit to help keep the pegs from dragging. It effectively made the gearing a little taller. As a result I spend a lot of time...

Fall Colors / Burger Challenge RTE Weekend

I'm likely out also. That's Bridge Day weekend. If that trip's a bust I'll see you at Denny's.

Do I Have a Spider Problem?

"cropped S6 off and soldered all six wires together" ^^^^ This may be the only sure fix. I'm afraid anything less is temporary at best.

Fascinating Fasteners, Torque Wrenches, Clamping Force etc from a KLR Forum

So good it bears repeating, again. This time practically a year to the date. The 10 degrees of tightness: 1) missing 2) hanging 3) loose 4) finger tight 5) pretty tight 6) good-n-tight 7) really tight 8) damn tight 9) f-n tight 10) stripped

    Wanna see an incredible save?

At least this time he had the decency to do it when no other riders were near him. Notice the point at which he actually loses it, he did have very far to go. It this case it helped him save it. Street riders typically aren't so lucky.

    Gen II Engine replacement/swap

I've done it. It's relatively simple. FSM is essential. Two people toward end of removal / beginning of install helps a lot. You should have a floor jack. For some reason I remember the drive shaft being key towards end of removal. Take your time, be neat, be methodical. Take pictures of...
