The 1911’s do Reuben Run 7

Great pics. My son and I toured Grand Teton, Yellowstone, and Glacier a couple of years ago, albeit by car. It is spectacular country.

    Ram Mount-Stable?

I do this as well and my wife looks at me like I'm trying to do some type of witchcraft.

    Ram Mount-Stable?

I've heard others complain about this. I've got an S8+ (not a small phone) and it takes me 2 seconds at the most to get it secured. In fact, a shortcut of just securing opposing corners seems to work just as well. The web/tether only has to keep the phone from moving up or down in the mount.

    Ram Mount-Stable?

I use the X-Grip with the little rubber web thingy to latch onto a couple of corners. Never had a single problem with it.

    Split: Sena Use

I use TuneIn to listen to local stations. My electrical interference level really racheted up when I add the auxiliary lights. TuneIn, Spotify, or the XM app is what I generally use now.

    Split: Sena Use

I quit using FM on the Sena in favor of the TuneIn Radio app on my phone. I was picking up too much electrical noise and the reception didn't seem to be that great anyway.

    Is that your prom picture?

    Harley Sport Tourer

I actually hope that Harley is successful with these new models. They may not be my cup of tea, but I really want all motorcycle manufacturers to be as successful as possible. I figure the more bikes on the road, the better. Granted, I absolutely don't care for straight pipes and tassels but at...

    erabuds/ear plugs?

I've been curious about noise cancelling headphones for motorcycle use as well. I use some Bose over the ear headphones here at the office occasionally and when I fly. They do lower the perceived noise level. My question has been been: Are they lowering the actual sound pressure level at the ear...

The Dunlop Roadsmart III compared to Michelin PR2/PR4GT Dilemma

Well I was in second so I almost disproved your sig. But no clutch dropping for me. I know for some, wheels slippin' and slidin' all over the place is a ton of fun, but I don't heal as fast as I used to. :)

The Dunlop Roadsmart III compared to Michelin PR2/PR4GT Dilemma

For as much as I've liked these tires, this has been the only set where I've had the rear spin on damp pavement. A week or so ago, I was on the way to work after a light overnight rain. When I was entering the interstate from the ramp (cloverleaf and not straight) and rolled on the throttle, I...

LED Brake Lights on a Gen II (Some questions)

Turn signals were easy. Replace the relay and plug in the new bulbs. Problem solved. The LED Brake lights can probably get by with less resistance. I probably just need to measure the resistance across the standard bulb and make sure I do about the same. As far as additional lighting, I...

LED Brake Lights on a Gen II (Some questions)

I've thought about this. I can modify the harness to use longer wires and route those to a location that has airflow. I'll also need to be mindful of water intrusion, as most places that can get airflow can also get water flow. I have a number of old CPU heatsinks laying around that should do...

LED Brake Lights on a Gen II (Some questions)

So I have the LED bulbs and, as expected, they need resistors to not interfere with the ABS. I picked up some harnesses that add some resistors inline with the existing 1157 socket. The link is below: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072JQQQLV/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The...

    VStream Touring Windscreen in summer

My main battle is noise. And ventilation. I've recently switched to my Cee Bailey reverse flip (maybe a +4). It's pretty good, but I still get helmet buffeting and not enough airflow unless down, which negates a lot of its benefit. I have a VStream that was fine in colder weather but probably...

    Dedicated GPS vs Cell Phone

Try these: https://www.nanotips.com/products/taps-touchscreen-sticker I added some to some Olympia winter gloves and they do a very good job of machine the glove touchscreen compatible. Supposedly the glove can even be registered as a fingerprint, but I haven't tried that yet.

    Dedicated GPS vs Cell Phone

I use the phone on the bike. I mostly use Waze rather than Google Maps, since I'm interested in real time traffic info while commuting. For area where I don't have coverage but need the GPS, I use Here Maps which can download the maps locally. Waze will cache maps along a route, but if you were...

The Dunlop Roadsmart III compared to Michelin PR2/PR4GT Dilemma

I'm currently running RS3s and like them pretty well. I have about 4500 miles on them and they seem to be wearing ok, although they're a little louder than they used to be. The last tires were a set of Metzelers that lasted about 5000 miles. Prior to that it was PR3s and PR2s, both sets got me...

    Mirror Wideners by SW Motech

I use them and like them. I actually mount my auxiliary lighting to them as well. For me, they did help to get some of my elbows out of the mirrors and give a better angle to what's behind me. And aesthetically, they work well.
